Sorry if it's already posted.

Kind of shocked that a boy his age was so open about these kind of things.

I really dont agree with wasting class time to say a pledge that was mandated to "make us more patritoic" in the face of the Cold War. :roll:

I was flipping through the channels lately and I saw some news program trying to make this into an insult to America or something...can't recall which program it was though.

You know they aren't legaly allowed to MAKE you do it, right? If you don't pledge and you get in trouble you have grounds for a lawsuit.

I have to give him credit. At ten years old, he's already fighting government like an adult. He's protesting an unfair law with a meaningless gesture that won't help anyone or really do anything in order to feel all good and principled. Welcome to politics, young child.

I'm not sure there's another 1st World country that pledges allegiance to the country prior to class, nor has the abundance of flags one sees in American classrooms.
