Look at the upper left part of the Sudosten's flag.
You have to ask whether the Sudosten supports slavery?
I don't mean what I say when I'm in character. It's called "acting," and I'm just playing the role of a villain.

We strongly oppose slavery, and any slave who crosses our border automatically becomes a free man.

Slavery has been outlawed since the 8th Century, although it was not uncommon in Morrowind beforehand. Support for slavery is non-existent, and harsh laws stand against any form of slavery.

While we still utilize penal labor for crimes, there is no institution of actual slavery in which one person owns another. We consider this to be obsolete and inefficient, and prefer to simply use immigrant labor, which we collooquially refer to as "slaves" because of the below-subsistence wages. When you OWN a slave, you have to feed it, clothe it, and house it. If you do this poorly or work them too hard, they die, and you have to buy a new one. If you fail to maintain adequate security, they run away. All this costs you. By renting immigants instead, you don't have to do any of these things, and should one die or otherwise move on, you just hire another one, plenty more where they came from. This is more efficient: Slaves cannot be worked 24 hours a day, or they die. When you are not working them, you still must pay for their upkeep, or they die. Immigrants have none of these drawbacks: You need only pay for the time you are using them, and they are not working, you don't pay them anything, and can just hire another shift's worth. With that in mind, we view people who actually bother to own slaves as backward barbarians. They may as well be using stone knives and bearskins, too.

Technically, it's also illegal, but the only actual reason it's illegal is because of an international treaty, and not because anyone here cares about the issue much: We just think it's horribly uneconomical and primitive. If you want a dangerous and uneconomical creature that will murder you in your sleep and escape into the wild, you get a tiger. If you want cheap, unskilled labor, you rent an immigrant: It costs you less and will not attempt to murder you and your fambly while you sleep.

No, Slavers are shot publicly for their crimes and slaves are given full citizenship.
However, our harshest non-fatal punishment, is life in a work camp with the bare minimum standards.

We have combat slaves otherwise known as "Familiars". These beings can be any type of life form, and are generally used to aid their Master in tasks he/she cannot normally perform. They are in no way oppressed or forced into it, since becoming a familiar is a consenting manner. Though, defeated foes may sometimes be forced into a Familiarship - those are the rules...so they say.

it's a tough answer. But, not really. We have indentured servants, those who have to work off debts, or prisoners who want to get time off. They work hard, but, are treated fairly and paid well.

We don't have "Slaves" per say, we treat Criminals and surrendered nations as indentured servants, in which they are charged with cleaning up cities, farming lands, and working in government factories. They are being paid through time, the more they work, the closer they are to getting free.

slavery is all over Alpinistan, as Matriarchy obviously half the population is already born as slave anyway.

for woman to become slaves they must have done very cruel crimes so they got lifetime punishment (as those that will come out of it wont be considered slaves and get some allowance for the work done under prison, and some even can fight in gladiatoral arenas for an early release).

in rare cases in small scale wars between land holders and larger corporations, its sometime done to the other sides leading people as form of humilation, but its only slavery for a short time basicly, if they prove useful they may get up in ranks again as any other later on.
thralldom is also not uncommon as service for large credits that have no possible way to be repaid.

Slavery is illegal under Section 80 of the Charter of Minoa, a de facto constitution.
