Romanlande in preparation for a First IOUFF Cup of Nations.

The Cup of Nations is about to start and the preparation for it is in full swing. The Romanlandean football team is currently training in a sports camp near Dael after a rather decisive victory over Vitsiland in an international friendly.
"Our recent victory does not indicate that everything is going to be perfect. There is still work to be done. If we are to win the tournament, we ought to give it all we got." - says manager Arven Lenda.
The new face of the national team - Sameo Rael at 20 years old is debuting in his first ever international game against Kencana
Image
Romanlande will have a second friendly match against Kencana on 27/5. The match will be broadcasted on every sports channel at 15:00 (Dael Time).

The match against Kencana ended with a surprising 1 - 2 loss of The Tigers. A midfielder Meima Tanfa on '15th minute had scored from a free kick and it looked as if everything was going as planned by the Romanlandean team. But later in the 2nd half the tables have turned with a brace from Merdeka Ali at 61'st and 84'th minutes.

"The match didn't go as we had expected. We have relaxed in the second half and conceded but what is done, can't be changed. We have to get over it." - said rising star Sameo Rael in a post-match interview.

The 1st Cup of Nations is almost here. The opening ceremony and the first match will be broadcasted live on every sports television channel.

New Narsian National Football Team Preparations for IOUFF Cup of Nations
New Narsia's football presence in Island of Union is fairly new and under the radar. The first New Narsian football appearance was in season 3 of the Cup of Champions where the furthest a New Narsian team went was Northfield who got knocked out in the quarter finals. The national team presence is even more so new and under the radar, with the team only having played a handful of games until very recently. Questions have been raised about how well the team will function together, considering Northfield's unbeaten season, which only ended around 2 weeks ago. Fans are hoping for an underdog story at the Cup of Nations that will cement New Narsia's place in Island of Union's football sphere.

Friendly Matches
The first friendly match was against Pamia on the 25th of May, held at the Western Port Stadium in Krbustan. New Narsian attendance to the game was very high for a friendly match away from home, as fans were very eager to see the first New Narsian game since last year. For most of the first half, the two teams were rigid in their defense, and only one shot was taken. This was until the 41st minute when Nyland Sprinsky broke through the defense and scored a goal for Pamia. During the second half, New Narsia worked hard to get a goal back, the closest of which was when Tim Haynes scored a goal, but it was disallowed due to it Haynes being offside. The game was put to bed in the 63rd minute when Nyland Sprinsky scored another goal. The game ended with a score of 2 - 0. Fans were disappointed the first game in a while was a loss. Head coach Daniel Gates said:
"Pamia are a tough team to play, and they reflected that in this game. I was a bit disappointed watching the team lose, but I trust they will learn and we can come back stronger next time."

2 days later on the 27th of May was when the second friendly took place against Cherqstan, also at the Western Port Stadium. Attendance was similarly high because of many fans staying in Krbustan to watch both games. The first half was mostly counter attacks, with Lewis Hanson scoring a bottom corner goal in the 33rd minute after a perfectly-timed through ball by Billy Cross. In the second half, a goal was scored when a corner was taken and Josh Greenham headered it in the top left corner. The last goal came in the 81st minute when Lewis Hanson and Josh Greenham did a one-two and Lewis Hanson put it in the back of the net. 3 - 0 was the final score. Fans were ecstatic when the final whistle was blowed. One fan said "I haven't had so much fun watching a football game in years. This game has restored my faith in the national team." Daniel Gates said:
"Incredible game tonight. Every person played a role in our win today, which is really what I want to see from the squad each game. Western Port Stadium is a great venue and I'm glad we could play both of our friendlies here. Morale will be very high for the Cup of Nations."

Interviews and additional preparations
The team has been training regularly at the Avon Sports Centre in Newbern. Team shirts, flags, and other merchandise are being sold around the country. We interviewed a few of the players about the competition and here is what they said:

Lewis Hanson
"I'm really looking forward to playing for my country. Since I was a boy that's always what I've wanted to do. I haven't been taking all this for granted and I've been training harder than I ever have. There are quite a few Northfield players on this team and many people have thought that the other players, like me, would be a bit bitter because of their unbeaten season. But it's not like that at all. Everyone's really nice on this team. It's really a dream come true."

Noah English
"Being selected as goalkeeper for the national team is incredible. It's nice to be back at home in the country I grew up in, and I can't wait to go and play the other Island of Union countries. It's great all of us New Narsians can come together through football."

Aaron Brown
"Being picked to play for New Narsia is great, but being picked a captain is just surreal. This is undoubtedly been the best season I've had in my career, and if I can top it off with a good performance on the national stage, I will be overwhelmed with happiness. Integrity has been something I hold close to my heart, and playing the best I can for my country will reflect that very well. I'm ready for the tournament!"

IOUFF CUP OF NATIONS FRIENDLIES

Image

Sepe Region FC shocked the IoUFF last season with their surprise underdog victory, Any thoughts that the Sepe National Football Team would command fear in their opponents was quickly dashed in the first of their two warm up friends for the IoUFF Cup of Nations.

SEPE vs. CORMORANTIC
0 vs. 2

Two goals by Raat Anda in the 61st and 84th minutes resulted in a scoreline which appeared comfortable for Cormorantic at the GWB Stadium.

Despite the Sepe team holding most of the possession it was Anda's clincal touch which proved decisive scoring from his only two shots on goal. Cormorantic's deep defending and quick pace in the counter-atrack was Sepe's undoing.

Following the match Sepe Manager, Jimmy Locke, gave his reaction:

"it's always going to be a difficult match.  They came here had two chances in the game and they've taken them both.  And you know the timing of the first goal was crucial. You know we had a lot of the possession, and had them penned in, but we cannot concede a goal like that.  We didn't deal with their counter attack.

We huffed and puffed from that point and couldn't get back in the game. But it is our first run out in a while and I hope they lads can take some positives in terms of match preparation  and provide a better performance in our next friendly."

SEPE vs. ERAMAN B
1 vs. 1

The Sepe squad flew to IoUFF Nations Cup host Krbustan and played their second friendly ahead of the competition against Eraman's B squad.

Again, Sepe had a significant amount of possession and took the lead after 25 minutes with a goal from young gun, stroker Evan Friberg. The Sepe squad tried to sit back and control the match smothering attacks and hogging possession throughout the match.

Most of the loyal travelling fans must have felt they had the match won, when in the final minute Serigala Jadi popped one in the back of the net to level the match.

It was a disappointing end, and the Sepe team didn't have enough time to muster a final chance.

DRAW REACTION

Image The draw for the first Cup of Nations has been made. Sepe will face stiff opposition in Group 1 alongside Krbustan, Romanlande and Grbustan.

Image

Sepe Manager Jimmy Locke said after the draw.

" We'll be very lucky to qualify out of this exiting group.  All the nations are of high quality an include exciting players such as Krbustan's Mustafa Gharib, and Romanlande's Meima Tanfa.

We'll also have to be careful of Grbustan after their solid victory over Aix les Filles. Whilst we didn't have the best warm up, we're  excited to be here and will give it our best".

ِAccusation of Doping !!!

Image

After the end of the third round of the group stage, The Emir Massoud bin Sultan President of Cherqstan Football Federation sent a complaint to the IOUFF regarding the suspicion that some teams use Doping, The complaint included Krbustan, Sepe, Romanlande, New Narsia and Aix les Filles, The Emir Massoud spoke at a press conference: We played against some these teams before the tournament, their performance was less than normal, but in the tournament results appeared with ten and nine goals, isn't that suspicious.
The Emir Massoud stated that if the problem was not dealt with, he and some other countries would withdraw from IOUFF, pointing to Grbustan, The match between Romanlande and Grbustan was intercepted by Major general Rabah Al Hadidi President of Grbustan Football Federation and a goal was canceled.

Romanlande in the Semifinals

The Romanlandean National team, after a 6-0 win over Grbustan had gone out of the group to the knockout stages where our team will meet the Group B 1st place holders - New Narsia.

We have all seen what New Narsia can do when given too many opportunities. The Aix Le Filles match is a great example here. It will be difficult, there is no denying that. All that is required of us now is determination. - Said Arven Lenda, coach of the Romanlandean team.

Romanlande will meet the New Narsian national team today. The match will be broadcasted on CRSTV, Goal! TV and Ocean Sports TV.
