We have received your message and understand that you wish to resolve the situation in Angbhand. However, the methods you are undertaking to achieve this goal are divisive and will merely cause more death & destruction. You have refused meaningful dialogue or a coordinated response, instead preferring a military action that is out of proportion. Even if we were to agree ally ourselves to you, we would never do so under the order of Barsovichian High Command.Furthermore, your threat to Valaran lands cannot be tolerated. If you will escalate the crisis to other regions, we will be forced to do the same.
Therefore, for all these reasons, we must decline you offer. However, despite the hostilities, we will leave open diplomatic channels for any further negotiation. This bloodshed still may be stopped now is you return to dialogue.

To secretary Secretary Rosolo of Anghband
In response to the escalation of the crisis, we feel that military force is urgently needed. Our troops will have landed and be ready to engage within the next few days. We would ask that you hold the perimeter against Barosvich until we can reinforce your position, though we would prefer that you do not conduct anything too aggressive until it is clear that no diplomatic solution can be reached in the short term. We also may decide to send more troops should Barsovich do likewise.
Your sincerely,
Foreign secretary Nygaard
