MOREAU TRAVELS TO PANGCHU, MEETS PRIME MINISTER MAO HANYING

With no warning, President Moreau left the Xiannen Forum for Ausiana Annual Conference 2021 and landed in Pangchu, becoming the first Zamastanian President to do so.

SHINGZHAN - In a stunning diplomatic move never before seen, President Atticus Moreau left the Forum for Ausiana Annual Conference 2021 in Xiannen, De Yuan, boarded the presidential aircraft, and flew to Pangchu, where he met with Prime Minister Mao Hanying merely hours after the Prime Minister called on him to boycott the Yuan summit. The move reportedly left the Yuaneze President Xi Jingyi in a heated state, as Moreau's presence in Yuan was seen by many politicians as a capitulation from the Zamastanian head of state amid heightened tensions.

Zamastanian authorities have long stated that Yuan is interfering in multiple aspects of Pangchu infrastructure, political sphere, and economic aspects, and Yuan has long claimed that Pangchu is rightfully Yuaneze territory. Panchua Muslims, a minority population of Pangchu-descended communities, have been systematically rounded up and imprisoned in recent months by the Yuaneze government. Zamastan and most of the international community recognizes Pangchu soverignty, and Moreau's visit all but solidifies the Zamastanian government's support of the small landlocked nation.

Yuan has also been accused of using extensive hacking operations to interfere in Pangchu election systems and political cycles, with their upcoming national elections being shifted towards pro-Yuaneze parties that have never had credible backing by the Pangchu population. They've also been tied directly to major breaches of software at Pangchu's hydroelectric and natural gas electric plants across the country, severely damaging the structure of the electrical grids in the country. Traffic infrastructure has also been impacted.

"I can commit the resources of Zamastan to the Pangchu cause effectively today," Moreau said, with Prime Minister Mao at his side in Shingzhan. "Yuan likes to bully. I'm not afraid to say that, and other countries shouldn't be afraid to say that either."

The Yuaneze government released a statement upon Moreau's unannounced departure from the Xiannen Summit, stating "we are severely disappointed in Mr. Moreau's conduct and his blatant disregard for formality in this conference, which is meant to show unity amongst countries despite differences. This is a major blow to the diplomatic relations of Yuan and Zamastan, and there will certainly be reprecussions."

Moreau left several members of his delegation in Xiannen to continue attending the summit, including Secretary of State Jessiah Vallotis and Secretary of Commerce Remi Loup.

Yuan and Zamastan have been at odds in recent months, despite growing economic ties pointing to an opposite view. In August of 2020, Yuan detained several Zamastanian journalists and the famed "Delavian Bribery" prosecutor, Cairo Gough, at a restaurant on unfounded claims of espionage. In November of 2019, Yuaneze naval vessels nearly collided with Zamastanian shipping vessels near Gangkou. In between all of the major international headlines, Yuan has also been accused of espionage in Zamastan and of hacking electrical grids across Zamastan, including one incident that left a majority of Tofino in a blackout for hours in January of 2020.

Yuan is also pushing ahead with its controversial Global Economic Cooperation Initiative; a global infrastructure project meant to invest Yuaneze business internationally. Kossmil President Mikhail Kuznetsov signed onto GECI hours prior to Moreau's arrival in De Yuan on Thursday, cementing a growing Yuaneze influence in Adula. GECI is seen by many as a counter to the Trans Adula Free Commerce Agreement (TAFCA), which constitutes sizable Zamastanian investment through partnership of its allies. While Zamastan is not a member state of TAFCA, many of its biggest regional allies like Timeria, Austrolis, Emmiria, and Artegana are members and hold significant leverage in Zamastanian foreign investment. This has led experts to worry about a credible threat of Yuaneze economic shifts that will uproot preestablished international leaders in trade and commerce.

Congressional Liberals Introduce Legislation to Expand Ban On Assault-Style Weapons

TOFINO - Speaker of the Chamber Natasha Chastain, along with Green Liberal Member colleagues, have announced the federal government is seeking legislation that will place a ban on 1,500 models and variants of certain assault-style weapons that have been used in mass shootings in Zamastan and abroad, effectively expanding the ban put in place in 2019 on automatic weapons.

“If this legislation passes immediately, citizens will no longer be permitted to buy, sell, transport, import or use military-grade assault weapons in this country,” Chastain said.

The speaker described the sweeping regulations as “closing the market” on these weapons in Zamastan.

"Pemberton Pier was the latest in a long history of this occuring in our country," Chastain said, visibly holding back tears. "We saw the carnage these weapons caused just days ago in Shoassau, and those weapons are still legal here. The argument can be made, of course, that the people with these weapons kill people, not the weapons. But the fact remains that these weapons are the tools used in these massacres. No, banning weapons won't always stop a monster, but it will absolutely be a means to an end."

However, the changes that this legislation proposal would cause won’t outlaw these weapons completely in Zamastan, as the government will be offering current owners of these guns the ability to grandfather in their ownerships, allowing them to still possess these guns under specific terms. Owners will also have the ability to be compensated through a buyback program, though the details of both options have yet to be outlined.

The Speaker of the Chamber spoke about how every Zamastanian can remember the day they realized how “a man with a gun could irrevocably alter our lives for the worse.”

Citing a list of mass shootings in Zamastan, Chastain said they “shape our identity” and “stain our conscience,” and are happening more and more often.

"From Tirzah and Revelstroke, to Altenburgh and Orillian, and to Arinals and Utica Hill, these massacres occur too often and take too many lives. We will act."

Some gun control advocates are already voicing concern about the government allowing current owners to keep their guns.

“Allowing grandfathered weapons would be a huge concession to the gun lobby. In terms of public safety benefits, there is a world of difference between a total ban and a partial ban. A non-mandatory buy-back program could mean that it will take generations to get these weapons off our streets and out of our communities,” said Heidi Madersa in a statement. Madersa was injured in the 2019 Tirzah nightclub shooting and has since become a vocal activist for gun control.

Pro-gun groups, however, view the announcement as unfairly targeting legal gun owners.

“What I think a lot of people don’t understand, they don’t understand what it is to own firearms. Firearms are very important to the people that own them… They have gun clubs, there are volunteer activities, the things they do on the weekend all revolves around these things and they treat those guns with respect and follow the law to the letter,” said CEO and Executive Director of the Zamastanian Coalition for Firearm Rights, Brad Dasper, in an interview on Zamastanian News Network (ZNN).

“That’s why it’s so offensive for gun owners to have the finger pointed at them and have them compared to mass murderers and people that would misuse firearms,” Dasper said.

Today on April 5, 2021 at 9 a.m. (local time) Vincent von Schilling was sworn in as the 14th President of Besmenia.

As usual, the inauguration took place in the Federal Chamber. In addition to the delegates, Prime Minister Theodor Sidemann and the entire government cabinet were present at the inauguration. Former Presidents Sebastian Bergmann, Markus Kiesinger and Dieter Schuster were present as guests. For health reasons, the former President Otto Schulz was unfortunately unable to attend. For this, his daughter Angelika Schulz was present on behalf of her father. Vincent von Schilling arrived at 8:30 a.m. After von Schilling had the opportunity to talk to the former presidents, the official inauguration began at 9 a.m. Together with the President of the Federal Chamber, von Schilling took his oath of office.

''I, Vincent von Schilling swear that I will devote my energies to the welfare of the Besmenian people, uphold the Basic Law and the laws of the Federal Republic of Besmenia, conscientiously fulfill my duties and do justice to everyone.''

Afterwards everyone congratulated von Schilling and he received a bouquet of flowers from Sebastian Bergmann. A little later, von Schilling gave his first speech as president in front of the parliament.

Dear ladies and gentlemen, today is truly a beautiful day for me. I would like to thank my party once again, which gave me courage and supported me as much as possible during the election campaign. I would also like to thank the citizens who voted for me on March 14th and 21st. Through their trust it was possible that we were elected to the highest political office in our Federal Republic. Finally, I would like to thank my predecessor Sebastian Bergmann and his work. He was the first President of the Green Party and someone who did good for the office and for our Federal Republic.

With the news coming out of De Yuan that President Mikhail Kuznetsov has signed on to the Global Economic Cooperation Initiative with De Yuan President Xi Jingyi and there the recent news with President Moreau of Zamastan leaving the Ausiana Annual Conference because of De Yuan tensions with Pangchu. At Kossmil, Deputy Prime Minister Anton Krukov has been interviewed on the Kossmil 1 News, giving his opinion on the situation as President Kuznetsov is not available, it is the same for Prime Minister Cherdenko. While at the studio he also answered some questions about the upcoming presidential election as he is one of the candidates.



Here an transcript of the interview:

Interviewer: “Thank you for agreeing to come down to the studio for the interview. The most important question is how are you doing today?”

Anton Krukov: “I’m doing very well today, thank you.”

Interviewer: “Ok then, so do you think President Kuznetsov has made the right decision to sign onto the Global Economic Cooperation? To work more with De Yuan?”

Anton Krukov: “Of course I do believe it's a very good deal, it would be very hard for Mikhail to refuse it, he loves a deal when he sees one. I’m glad that President Xi has offered it to Kossmil, we hope for a positive working relationship from this deal.”

Interviewer: “You saw recently that President Moreau of Zamastan just boycotted the Ausiana Annual Conference in protest of De Yuan tensions with Pangchu. What is your reaction to that? And do you feel like Kossmil signing up to the Global Economic Cooperation might have harmed relations with Zamastan in the future?”

Anton Krukov: “Well I and the rest of the Kossmil government are saddened with President Moreau's action but we respect his decision. I know that Mikhail will be disappointed as he was excited to talk with President Moreau. He doesn’t have any negative opinions of Zamastan or of its President, I’m one of the first people in the cabinet to suggest that Kossmil should work closely with Zamastan then De Yuan but I respect his decision. We would love to work with Zamastan and I hope he open to work with Kossmil”

Interviewer: “Which brings to the point that your main foreign policy that linked to your political manifesto, is that Kossmil should work closely with Zamastan and there are also plans of Kossmil working closely with the WEDA, with the future plan of Kossmil becoming a member. Please explain more to that.”

Anton Krukov: “Of course, the reason is that our neighbour like Vitosum are a member and other countries that Kossmil trade with like Quetana and Emmira are also members of WEDA so there is extra security, another is on the actions of the Trans-Toyana Prosper Alliance members recently which are too aggressive to my liking.”

Interviewer: “You will be going against your old mentor, Prime Minister Cherdenko in election. Was there any animosity between you two?”

Anton Krukov: “No, we respected each other ever since he took me under his wing a while ago when I used to be in the army. He teaches me a lot about politics and I’m very thankful of that but he disagrees with some of my ideas on how Kossmil should run as a country so I have to go against him as a candidate in the election. He doesn't want to route the corruption in this country, we have faced ever before this country was founded, my main plan is setting up investigations into these corruptions and routing it out before the people suffer more. Cherdenko disagree with me that idea, he believe that will bring more harm then good which I refute that, some time you have to get aggressive with your policy's to make a change.”

Interviewer: “I respect that, there was a poll recently that shows that you are one of the frontrunners to win elections but it is a head to head with General Shepunov from the army and in charge of the Patriots Front.”

Anton Krukov: “I don’t want to comment on a poll, because polls can change on a whim like one week the polls could show that I’m in the lead then the other week polls could show that Safonov of the Communist Party is in the lead instead.”

Interviewer: “Well that's all the questions today, thank you for coming down to the studio to answer the questions.

President Sulaiman Attends Yuan Economic Summit, But Backs Moreau After Controversial Move
President Akram Sulaiman Met With Yuan's Xi Jingyi, But Defended the Zamastanian Leader's Decision to Travel to Pangchu

XIANNEN - President Akram Sulaiman, in Xiannen, De Yuan, attending the Forum for Ausiana Annual Conference, defended President Atticus Moreau of Zamastan after his counterpart left the summit prematurely and traveled to Pangchu. The move, though applauded by many in the international community, has thrown the Yuaneze government off guard. Pangchu has historically been claimed by Yuan while most of the international community in the Coalition of Crown Albatross recognizes it as sovereign, but Moreau's visit solidified the stance of the Zamastanian State Department and pushes deeper into tensions between them and Yuan.

"I fully back Moreau and the Zamastanian government's stance on Pangchu sovereign right," Sulaiman said during a joint-press conference with Yuan's President Xi Jingyi and Barangadesh President Abdul Sheihk Mahmed. "I won't comment at the moment, due to present company, on the Emmirian stance on Yuaneze government operation, but Pangchu is sovereign and President Moreau has every right to meet with who he wants to meet."

Sulaiman's comments, seen by many as directly challenging President Xi, albeit with passing remark, is certain to further deepen tensions that have plagued Emmirian and Yuaneze diplomacy for months. From extensively increasing trade wars over drilling, fishing, commercial shipping, Yuan and Emmiria have been throwing punches at each other in the form of tariffs and sanctions.

Emmiria's Foreign Ministry has commented often on the situation of Yuaneze intervention in Pangchu, once going as far to call the internment of Panchua Muslim communities as a "horrendous display of coordinated human rights abuses."

Anseau - Jyau has qualified for the 2021 Baron Cup at this pace.

An impressive 4-0 win in Oeslia on Monday made it a perfect three wins for the Jyaueze in Group F after the first week of the campaign.

North central Adula's top-scoring team has netted 14 goals so far — and none by playmaker Martin Eriksen — without allowing an opponent to score against goalkeeper Kasper Baesne.

“(Baesne) didn’t have a single (save) here or in Kossmil,” Jyau coach Mac Hjulmand told broadcaster Jab 5. “That’s convincing. That’s strong.”

Jyau is already four points clear, routing Granica 8-0 between solid away wins against two teams, Kossmil and Prasoria, who started last week with realistic hopes of contending. The group runner-up enters a playoff round next year.

The Besmenian Prime Minister Theodor Sidemann and CCA Secretary-General Katherine von Wettin met on April 6th at 10 a.m. (local time) at the Headquarters of the Coalition of Crown Albatross in Tofino, Zamastan, for a summit. The focus of the summit were discussions about the Besmenian-CCA relations and discussions and opinions about current world politics, such as the Chanchajilla War or the sudden departure of President Moreau at the forum of the Ausiana Annual Conference 2021. Sidemann emphasized in the talk with von Wettin, that in today's time it is very important to act together democratically and peacefully in order to prevent a second world war. After the conversation, a press conference between Sidemann and von Wettin took place in front of the CCA headquarters.

Albarine Sea Conference Held in Arianna

The first Albarine Sea Conference will be held in Arianna, Timeria on April 6th. The Conference will host a number of global leaders to discuss topics of the Albarine Sea. The meeting will run until Friday and leaders will have a chance to highlight key topics. The Conference will be held at the Sunset Garden Resort and host all of the guests.

There is expected to be a lot of discussion and debate on the future of the region. President Raso has a number of topics she wishes to discuss which include environmental protection, sustainable fishing, offshore drilling, and trade moving through the Sea. She stated that “the Albarine Sea is a critical resource for many nations and is currently under threat. With growing offshore drilling operations and overfishing, it’s important that we address these issues. Timeria is also a part of this problem and we are willing to lead efforts to ensure the future of the Albarine Sea.”

A large percentage of the world’s trade travels through the Albarine Sea each year. During the Conference, there will be a discussion on trade and commerce within the region and the connection to the international market. Some of the world’s leading economies border the Albarine Sea, including TAFCA members. While the Sea has not seen much conflict greater cooperation can be achieved.

The conference will take place in Ariannam home to Timeria’s fishing industry and a city of historic significance. Historically the cities port were open to merchants from all around the Albarine Sea. The merchant would come to Arianna to sell goods and then return to their home country, often with items to sell in their home country. Arianna is also one of the most diverse cities in Timeria.

Leo Isles University will also send students to assist and observe at the Conference. The Department of Political Science will be leading the students alongside the School of Business. A large number of exchange students will also take part in the program as world leaders from around the world will be attending. Chancellor Miya had this to say “This is really a great opportunity for our students to gain a lot of knowledge and have the experience of a lifetime. What these students will learn at the ASC you can’t teach in a classroom.”

As he was on his jet, he prepared himself once more for the 2021 Albarine Sea Conference as both an observer and an attendance to see if whether Jerku can continue to merge with the CCA situation around the Region.

Not only that, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs is also reopening with De Yuan with the upcoming Ausiana Annual Conference 2021, it has been years since this happens when the downfall of the Social Democratic times.

It has been 18 years since Ossotia's one and only showing in the World Cup, and Ossotia's National Football Team is vying for a showing in this year's world cup. Their last showing was in the 2002 Viitaniemi World Cup in Caspiaa, where they were routed by the Beleroskovian team. Now, as the final decision for a Host City is wrapping up, Ossotia prepares for the qualifying rounds.

Captain Myak Nevorski is hoping that his team will be able to pass qualifying rounds, which will place it in a vital position to perform well in the matches of the World Cup.

Petrov allowed to transfer

Anton Petrov, captain of the Slavic Football league, has been permitted to transfer by the Slavic Football Federation (SFF), Petrov first requested a transfer abroad 2 weeks ago, with information only being publicly released recently. This transfer would be completely unprecedented, with no other Slavic national being allowed to transfer to a club not within the Slavic Premier League.

Petrov is considered by some to be among some of the best strikers in the world and is almost unanimously considered to be the greatest player in the history of Slavic football, holding numerous records for both the national team and the Slavic Premier League. In an interview Petrov stated "I have done all I can do here, broken every record, won every award and title, the only challenges left are victory in the World Cup, and for me to go abroad"

Petrov requests that he be transferred to a team in Quetana, Besemia, Drambenburg, or Avergnon but all interested clubs will be allowed to bid for his services. So far this year Petrov has scored 19 goals in 23 appearances for Osipovgrad FK.

FREDERICK ARMBAR KILLED - IVORA STILL HOLDING OUT
Nearly a month of siege against the capital of West Chanchajilla has not made enough progress to establish it as a captured zone, but today's assassination of Armbar is a major victory for the Coalition.

WEST CHANCHAJILLA - West Chanchajillan dictator Frederick Armbar has been killed in a suburb outside Ivora, caught in a firefight as he attempted to flee East Chanchajillan forces. The ruthless dictator, who had been holding up inside bunkers throughout the city of Ivora for nearly a month, was in a convoy being tracked by East Chanchajillan forces. An airstrike by Zamastanian fighter jets threw the vehicles into disarray and off the road. Coalition forces moved in to try and arrest Armbar, but he and his bodyguards opened fire on soldiers who were closing. Armbar and his bodyguards were all killed, with the exception of two bodyguards who were captured. Several East Chanchajillan troops were also killed in the gunfight.

President Boer called Armbar's killing a "major victory for the coalition and the people of West Chanchajilla."

"West Chanchajilla has suffered immensely for over a decade and a half under Armbar's cruel hand," he said, "and his death marks a new stage for the people of West Chanchajilla. They are a great people, a hard working people, a passionate people, and now that this monster has been removed, real healing can begin. We have still to seize Ivora, but once we establish maintained security, we can help begin the nation's first democratic process."

Ivora, the capital of West Chanchajilla, has been under siege since March 16th. The nearly month long siege has not had the rapid results Coalition generals had hoped for, with even President Gideon Boer of East Chanchajilla stating that he's been "gravely disappointed in the lack of territorial gain and the excessively large casualties on the ground." East Chanchajilla has lost 4,000 soldiers in the fighting, with Paraboca losing upwards of 300. Estimates put West Chanchajillan regime loyalist forces causalties at upwards of 10,000 since the siege began.

Armbar came to power in 2005 when his mentor, President Parish White passed away, transitioning his seat of Secretary-General to a more executive function. He ruled West Chanchajilla by decree ever since through powers granted to him by the ruling party legislature and military dictatorship. Multiple governments, most significantly WEDA, CAMDA, Drambenburg, and Cadair did not recognize him as the legitimate leader of West Chanchajilla, and Armbar's administration has been deemed "responsible for grossly mismanaging the economy and plunging the country into a deep humanitarian crisis". Additionally, the regime has been accused of attempting to "crush the opposition by jailing or exiling critics, and using lethal force against anti-government protesters" by several nations. However, his regime was supported by Yuan, Syraranto, Great Epsilon, and the DSC.

After President Ariba Holm established herself as dictator of Tire Blin, various groups are becoming more and more active against her rule. 12 Armed men attacked a government building that President Holm was believed to be in. They were put down by the police before too much damage could be caused. The President has ordered that security be increased in important areas and has begun rallying support against these rebels. They don't seem organized as of yet but that could change in the future. President Holm has assured her good intentions but nobody is quite sure if this was sincere.

Rhaga - The Emmirian national football team has qualified for the 2021 Sulifa World Cup qualification rounds, being placed in Group G. The current bracket qualification set has Emmiria's national team facing off against the Austrolis national team on Tuesday.

Head coach Muneer al-Edris is hopeful, telling the Rhaga Tribune that they are "ready to take the whole championship."

"We've never been able to capture that championship title," Coach al-Edris said, "but we've made it to the semi-finals multiple times in the last several years, and we're coming out of one of our best exhibition seasons ever. We're in a great position to take it."

Emmiria's national fanbase is starved for good Emmirian performance. The national team's best showing in the World Cup was a 6-5 loss to Quetana in the 2011 Vulkar World Cup.

For von Schilling it is the first state visit since the begin of his presidency. Both politicians were talking in the presidential office. Topics were their political goals for the next few years, the relationship between Besmenia and Zamastan and the current political world situation, especially the death of the West Chanchajillan dictator Frederick Armbar, especially since the Besmenian and Zamastanian governments did not recognize him as the legitimate leader of West Chanchajilla. The conversation was followed by lunch between von Schilling and Moreau and their wives.

WHILE IVORA CONTINUES TO HOLD OUT, FREDERICK ARMBAR IS KILLED

A highrise burns in Ivora during the brutal seige for the city. The capital city of West Chanchajilla, Ivora, continues to hold out after nearly a month of fighting. Military officials are furious and frustrated.

IVORA - West Chanchajillan dictator Frederick Armbar has been killed in a suburb outside Ivora, caught in a firefight as he attempted to flee East Chanchajillan forces. The ruthless dictator, who had been holding up inside bunkers throughout the city of Ivora for nearly a month, was in a convoy being tracked by East Chanchajillan forces. An airstrike by Zamastanian fighter jets threw the vehicles into disarray and off the road. Coalition forces moved in to try and arrest Armbar, but he and his bodyguards opened fire on soldiers who were closing. Armbar and his bodyguards were all killed, with the exception of two bodyguards who were captured. Several East Chanchajillan troops were also killed in the gunfight.

President Atticus Moreau praised the operation, stating "the Coalition forces have operated admirably and bravely. This development brings a new age to West Chanchajilla."

East Chanchajillan President Gideon Boer called Armbar's killing a "major victory for the coalition and the people of West Chanchajilla."

"West Chanchajilla has suffered immensely for over a decade and a half under Armbar's cruel hand," he said, "and his death marks a new stage for the people of West Chanchajilla. They are a great people, a hard working people, a passionate people, and now that this monster has been removed, real healing can begin. We have still to seize Ivora, but once we establish maintained security, we can help begin the nation's first democratic process."

Ivora, the capital of West Chanchajilla, has been under siege since March 16th. Nearly a month on, Zamastanian officials have expressed frustrations with the pace at which the operation is going. Secretary of Defense Camille Boffrand stated in an interview with the Tofino Times that "the capture should have occured weeks ago. We always knew this was going to be a long campaign, but our previous successes were initially indicative of a better schedule. We only have advisors on the ground helping the Eastern and Parabocan forces, and our airstriking capability has been closed to a minimum by the hobbling discussion in Congressional Hall."

The discussion in Congressional Hall that Secretary Boffrand is refering to is the recent resolutions passed that limits the number of airstrikes that the Zamastanian Air Force can conduct in a day. At the height of operations, the air force was conducting nearly 60 strikes a day, but has since been limited to 10. The operation that resulted in Armbar's death on Friday, for instance, utilized an airstrike that needed Congressional armed services committee approval. The concern over the use of airstrikes arose after a ZIS report revealed that hundreds of civilians had been killed in airstrikes.

The battle for Ivora has claimed an estimated 7,000 civilians, with limited Zamastanian intervention. East Chanchajilla has lost nearly 4,000 soldiers over the span of the month, with Parabocan reinforcement fighters losing nearly 300. Regime loyalists continue to hunker down throughout the city, which has limited the mobility of coalition forces. Approximately 10,000 regime loyalist fighters have been killed, but several hundred have surrendered or have been captured.

The organized retreat to Ivora by Armbar's forces at the beginning of the conflict in February has resulted in this intense bout of fighting, according to military analysts. It also contributed to the extremely rapid progression of East Chanchajillan forces in the operations leading up to the seige, with the captures of every single major city and most villages in the hermit country coming only a month into the fighting. The battle for Ivora has already cost more lives than the entirity of the conflict previous to it.

Armbar came to power in 2005 when his mentor, President Parish White passed away, transitioning his seat of Secretary-General to a more executive function. He ruled West Chanchajilla by decree ever since through powers granted to him by the ruling party legislature and military dictatorship. Multiple governments, most significantly WEDA, CAMDA, Drambenburg, and Cadair did not recognize him as the legitimate leader of West Chanchajilla, and Armbar's administration has been deemed "responsible for grossly mismanaging the economy and plunging the country into a deep humanitarian crisis". Additionally, the regime has been accused of attempting to "crush the opposition by jailing or exiling critics, and using lethal force against anti-government protesters" by several nations. However, his regime was supported by Yuan, Syraranto, Great Epsilon, and the DSC.

Sulifa is Host to the 2021 World Cup

The Zamastan national football team will face off against Andaluni in the 64-team qualifying round in Sulifa. The match will be played on Monday, as Zamastan was accepted for Group B. Other challenges in B Group include Besmenia, Janapa, and arguably the best team in the world, Cadair.

Head Coach Colin Chappuis hopes to lead the team into the Finals and to capture the coveted championship title, which they were able to do in 2019 and nearly accomplished last year.

"We've got the skill, and we've got the heart for it," Chappuis said. "We're going to do great, I know it. And we'll keep pushing ourselves to do our best at every step of the way."

Captain Roch Asselin, with top-scorer Isaiah Ross and cap leader Martin Giraud are heavy hitters for the team, consistently ranked among the best soccer players in the world. Andaluni's team is fresh with many rookies in comparrison, but they've been able to achieve a lot in the East Adula Conference this past year.

The Zamastanian national team represents Zamastan in men's international football and is controlled by the Zamastan Soccer League, also known as ZSL. The team's colours are dark blue, white and cyan, and the coq gaulois its symbol. Zamastan's players are colloquially known as The Whitecaps. They are the most successful team in the World Cup, having won six titles, their most recent title being at the 2019 World Cup in Emerald. They have also qualified for 46 of 48 total World Cups, making them the most prolific team in the tournament.

Zamastan has also hosted four World Cup tournaments (1978 in Tregueux, 1993 in Tofino, 2009 in Providence, and 2019 in Emerald), reaching the finals in all four and winning the title in 2019.

Newly-elected President von Schilling of Besmenia met with the Zamastanian President Atticus Moreau on April 10th for a bilateral summit and luncheon at the Zian Presidential Mansion. It marked the first state visit for von Schilling, elected only weeks ago.

President Moreau formally congratulated von Schilling on his victory, and stated that "the hopes and dreams of Zamastanian and Besmenian cooperation continue to shine bright. Our international friendship is so vital to the world's functionality in many regards."

The two heads of state discussed a number of topics, ranging from trade and technological innovation to the recent developments of the killing of Frederick Armbar in West Chanchajilla.

Moreau also accepted an invitation to visit Besmenia within the year, where further summits will be held to expand Besmenia-Zamastan cooperation.

The Timerian National is preparing for the World Cup in Sulifa this year. Many in Timeria are hoping for a successful championship run. The team put together this year is a group of star players from across Timeria. Coach McKay has stated that “this is a few years of work. This team has been in development for a while now. We finally have the pieces and the strategy in place to play our best. While Coach McKay has confidence many people have criticized his captain selection.

Shima Ryu was added to the team's roster as soon as he completed high school. He was brought into Nalin Academy from an orphanage at the age of 14. There he competed on both the U16 and U18 teams before transitioning into the professional club and joining the national team. When it was announced that Ryu would be the team captain many people were skeptical about this decision but McKay ensured that this was the right choice for the long-term success of the club and promised that Ryu would be able to compete at a high level and lead the Dragons to victory. Reporters interviewed Ryu where he confronted his critics, stating that "I deserve this spot... I worked for it and I plan on continuing to make things work so that I can help my team win. I have a lot to work on but right now I’m focused on winning... I think it will only get better for us."

The team will face Ossotia in their first match on Tuesday. Ossotia has an amazing coaching staff and plans on dismantling the Dragons this Tuesday. Many expect the teams to try and enforce their will and play to their advantage. The two teams are near polar opposites with Tiemria having an offensive-minded team and Ossotia more reliant on its defense. Expect an interesting match on Tuesday when the two sides collide in Sulifa. Whoever can impose their will may come out victorious.

BELEROSKOV CLINCHES VICTORY OVER SOMODI TO QUALIFY FOR WORLD CUP

President Nikolai Ubotrov of the Federation of Beleroskov sent celebrations and congratulations to the Beleroskov national football team after their qualification round victory over Somodi.

The Beleroskovian team battled a difficult game against the Somodi team, with both sides blocking numerous shots on the goal and establishing themselves as more defensively oriented players than offensive. However, an important goal by captain Vlad Boyan in the last 10 minutes put Beleroskov ahead 1-0. Somodi was unable to recover.

"We fought hard," Vlad Boyan said afterwards as his teammates celebrated behind him with champagne and vodka, "and we came out on top. Somodi is an amazing team and they gave us a tough fight. Takes a lot to keep us on the defensive for an entire game, so props to them. They've earned my utmost respect."

Now, Beleroskov plays the Tervali Islands, who beat Yubonia 3-2.

"We're looking for the next game before we think about the finals," Vlad Boyan said. "One game at a time. Today's game was tough and we weren't even in the World Cup yet. So let's do this one at a time."

Rebels secede forming Mountainia

Tyre - About an hour ago, the rebels that were previously giving the President issues have attempted to secede. They have been armed and organized by their now President Marcus Quin of Mountainia. In an official statement today, President Ariba Holm has said, "This will not be tolerated by the Tire Blinian people or the state. These rebels will be dealt with and all Tire Blinians within this breakaway state will be reunited with their countrymen." Checkpoints have already been set up by both sides on the border and armed conflict between the two seems imminent. Tire Blin has guard towers to protect the border and there are rumors floating around that the government wants to construct a wall along the Mountainia-Tire Blin border.

President Marcus has made it clear that he doesn't want violence. However, he says that he will give the order to protect Mountainia if required. In a speech following his election he said, "After seeing the life that President Holm lives compared to the common Tire Blinian, and the iron fist she rules with, I decided that something must be done. I organized this rebellion to free my fellow Tire Blinians from her dictatorial rule at all costs. I believe that it is worth it even if we must fight Tire Blin for our freedom. They call it a civil war, we call it a war of independence." President Marcus has been seen arming and overseeing the training of Mountainian troops. He has also given the order that fortifications be made along the border in case Tire Blin does invade. If war does break out, it will likely be a very long and bloody conflict. Or it might be swift and bloodless, only time will tell.

WHITECAPS SWEEP ANDALUNI 6-0 TO QUALIFY FOR WORLD CUP

CUBAI, SULIFA - The Zamastanian national team, known affectionately as the Whitecaps, won a clear and evident victory over the Andaluni national football team in the opening match for the qualification for the World Cup. On Monday, Zamastan's national team, positioned in Group B, came out of the gate with an aggressive stance, scoring a goal within the first five minutes in the Mastifah Tya Stadium in Cubai. Second-striker Davy Marchal made an impressive backheal kick over Andaluni defenders and into the goal, giving Zamastan an early lead.

The battle continued, but Andaluni was never able to recover. Attacking midfield Alex Simon scored a goal only 10 minutes later, and from that point on the team's top scorer Isaiah Ross put up the remaining four unanswered goals. Goal keeper Thomas Bonnel was also instrumental in keeping Andaluni points off the board, with a new record of twelve blocks for a Zamastanian goalie. Andaluni, for their part, was able to break through Zamastanian defenses and made more shots on the goal than Zamastan did, but Zamastan's superior goalies came through to keep unanswered points.

Coach Colin Chappuis was enthusiastic following the victory, saying "we performed above and beyond, and we're taking this as far as we can." When asked if the team could take the enthusiasm and skill all the way to the World Cup championship, Chappuis said "Of course. We're taking the whole thing."

The Kossmil National football team or they commonly known ‘The Corba’s’ has made History as they qualified for their first ever world cup finals after their won 3-1 against Cyruda in the qualifying at the world cup host nation of Suflia. The Kossmil goals were scored by forward Artem Semak who scored at 43 minute by heading it into the back of net from a corner kick, the second goal was scored by right midfield Vladimir Zahovič in the right corner of the net and the final goal was scored by substitute forward Marko Ivanović, when the game ended at full time, the entire team ran onto the pitch to celebrate.



President Mikhail Kuznetsov has sent support and congratulations to the national team, “It is an amazing moment in Kossmilian sporting history, especially when your whole team are semi professionals. They fought for their win and now all of Kossmil are singing and drinking with joy, we are proud of you all!”

The head coach of the national team, Miroslav Romantsev has answered some questions in the press conference after the match, the first question was on how he felt about the match and does he feel that Kossmil deserved it. He replied with “First I would like to say that the Cyruda national football team were good opposition and they put up a good show in the match. The main answer is that I’m proud of the boys, they put 100% in training and their performance on the pitch. As you see on the pitch their hard work is paying off and I feel we deserved that win.” Another question was Kossmil expectation in the World Cup and he response “We taking games, one step of the time as we don’t to be see as arrogant or overconfident, it Kossmil first appearance in a world cup finals and we here to enjoy it.”

Kossmil national team next match is in the round of 32 and they up against Vitosium who won the World cup four time (1995,2005, 2015 and 2019). Vitosium national team has won a hard fought game against Lutharia which finished at 4-3, it will be hard game for Kossmil to win but what made the World Cup amazing is that anything can happen.

Sulaiman Meets With Pavlov In Janapa
Tensions Settle As the Embattled Leaders Meet on Equal Footing

President Akram Sulaiman met with Slavic Union leader Vozhd Matvei Pavlov in Janapa City, Janapa, for a controversial meeting over policy and common ground. Scrutinized by many as giving leeway and access for a man who much of the international community has labeled a tyrant, Sulaiman said to reporters that "mutual understanding is important to conversing for peace."

Sulaiman and Pavlov shook hands in a historic moment captured by reporters, and then the two leaders left for a private area in the seaside resort to have lunch and private meetings.

Emmiria will face off against Qolaysia

Rhaga - The Emmirian national team beat Austrolis 3-2 in the qualifying round and will move on to play the national team of Qolaysia in the Group of 32 round. Emmiria is hoping to capture a quarter-finals spot and keep progressing, as their best showing was in 2011 in the finals.

Captain Tavi Mahad scored in the first 7 minutes of the round, but Austrolis forward Blair Tenns countered within seconds of the game restarting. From that point, Austrolis took a lead with another goal, and Emmiria struggled to catch up until the final ten minutes with two back to back goals by right forward Nawf Chahine.

"A tough challenge to be sure," a breathless and excited coach Muneer al-Edris told cameras after the victory. "Our congratulations and thanks go to the Austrolis team, they put up a very tough fight."

"Time to get the next win," Nawf Chahine said with a confident thumbs up.

King Lindholm Admitted to Viitaniemi Hospital, Reportedly Unresponsive



His majesty King Adrian Lindholm the Second has been admitted to a Viitaniemi hospital after reportedly suffering a heart attack. According to his wife, her highness the Duchess Remy of Kandona, the King remains in stable condition but is unresponsive.

King Lindholm was admitted to Viitaniemi Royal Forces Hospital.

King Adrian Lindholm is the head of state, but the role of the monarch is limited to ceremonial and representative functions. Under the provisions of the Instrument of Government, the King lacks any formal political power.

The King opens the annual legislative session, chairs the Special Council held during a change of Government, holds regular Information Councils with the Prime Minister and the Government, chairs the meetings of the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs, and receives Letters of Credence of foreign ambassadors to Caspiaa and signs those of Caspiaan ambassadors sent abroad.

In addition, the King pays State Visits abroad and receives those incoming as host. Apart from strictly official duties, the King and the other members of Royal Family undertake a variety of unofficial and other representative duties within Caspiaa and abroad.

Prime Minister Tullia Grönberg sent her best wishes and in a national address said that "the hearts and prayers of the nation are with his majesty the King today, and we wish him a swift and gentle recovery."

Slavic Union victorious in World Cup

Janapa City- The summit between the Slavic Union and Emmiria reportedly went well, with the two nations being on better terms by the end. After a brief discussion a few photos of them shaking hands were taken by reporters before Pavlov and Sulaiman went to a seaside resort to have lunch and private meetings. The meeting has been criticized due to the perception of some as it going easy on Pavlov and the Slavic Union, who many consider to be tyrannical and oppressive, but this criticism was not publicly commented on by either leader during the summit.

Sulifa City- The Slavic Union national team, also known as the Medvedi, was victorious Tuesday in the Sulifa World Cup, winning 2-0 over Zalluabed. Dmitry Chebykin opened up scoring in the 34th minute and Anton Petrov sealed the game with a penalty kick in the 83rd minute. Petrov recently requested a transfer out of the Slavic Union, and the world cup is an opportunity to prove that he can do well outside the Union. The Slavic Union is set to play Tire Blin in the round of 32.

QOLAYSIA TRIUMPHS OVER NEW ANEA, QUALIFIES FOR WORLD CUP

Qolaysia beat New Anea 4-1 in a thrilling qualifying match that saw Qolaysia's first entrance to the World Cup. Qolaysia will play against Emmiria in the Group of 32 match up, and they hope to advance to a spot in the Group of 16.

Captain Noh bin Putera, who scored two of the goals in a dashing offensive game, celebrated on the field with his team following the game.

"The feeling is amazing," he cried with tears rushing down his face. "It's been a long year, and to achieve this for our country is an amazing thing, it's hard to believe."

Head Coach Haatim bin Yoonus couldn't contain his excitement either, saying "We just made history for Qolaysia. So much history. I'm very proud of my team today."

In a country where political turmoil and extensive protests against the government have raged for months, the qualifying game was a source of levity. There were celebrations in the streets over the news that Qolaysia had won, with fireworks and parades. The excitement will hopefully continue with further victories.

ANANICO RIVER KILLER CAPTURED AFTER TWENTY TWO YEARS

Many believe that Deni Melikov, also known as the Ananico River Killer, is Zamastan's most prolific serial killer. The Ananico River was where victim's remains were discovered

ANANICO, JADE - On Wednesday afternoon, authorities announced that they had made an arrest in a two-decade long series of killings in the mountainous wilderness of the Arelsamo National Forest. Ananico Police Department Chief Thomas Debaker in a press briefing that Deni Melikov, a 39-year old Beleroskovian-born man had been arrested in connection to over 40 killings over the span of twenty two years. The Z.I.S., which had been brought into the investigation following the dissapearance and later discovery of a young woman's remains last year in the national park, used DNA evidence to tie her killing to that of others in the area.

"With the help of the Z.I.S. domestic crimes division," stated Debaker, "we have arrested one Deni Melikov in connection to 43 murders over the past 22 years, and we believe that he is connected to an additional three dozen. We are waiting on more conclusive connection to the other killings from lab analysis, but we can confirm our strong evidence indicating that he was responsible for all of these murders."

Deni Melikov was born in Koyevka, Beleroskov, in 1982. He and his family immigrated to Zamastan in 1990. His father and mother separated not long after their arrival in Zamastan. His father was highly abusive, and was arrested in 1992 for second-degree assault charges on his youngest son and Deni's brother, Malik. According to police, Deni Melikov began killing in 1999, at the age of 17. His first victim was Lisanne Kniepert, a girl from his high school who went missing that year and whose remains went undiscovered for five years. Melikov is suspected of killing at least 43 murders, but is being connected and suspected of approximately 92.

Melikov used a disturbing modus operandi to kill his victims, according to the decades long investigation. Melikov would hunt his victims like wild animals in the Arelsano National Forest. With the exception of Lisanne Kniepert in 1999, it is believed that Melikov's victims were selected completely at random. Deni Melikov would abduct people whose cars broke down on roads leading through the National Forest, or he would abduct individuals in the city of Ananico at night, many of whom were sex workers or women in empty parking lots. He would subdue the victims, dispose of many victims' belongings in the Ananico River, drive into the forest, cut them loose, and tell them to run, giving them a head start. The discovery of the victim's belongings in the Ananico River was what coined the term of the Ananico River Killer.

The hunts could go on for roughly a week, with the victims always surviving that long on instinct alone, all the while being psychologically tortured the whole time by the knowledge that their abducter could kill them at any time. Sometimes, during the hunts, Melikov would let the victims go even if they had them in their sights, taking delight in allowing them to run for the time being. Melikov originally had the habit of taking driver's licenses from the people they killed, presumably as trophies. This information was gathered by investigators because at least three women escaped from Melikov over the twenty-two years.

Crime enthusiasts, many of whom followed developments of the case for years, were vital in peicing together the case. Deni had reportedly been a suspect in popular culture circles after leaked police documents in 2008 showed Melikov as a suspect, although police dropped him from consideration. The reason that police dropped him as a suspect has confounded the community following the case, and police have not yet given an explanation as to why they did so. There is intense scrutiny towards the Ananico Police Department due to this revelation, and the understanding that because Melikov was go meant that dozens more victims were killed over the next twelve years.

"We understand the hurt and pain in the community and across this country due to the scope and longevity of this case," Chief Debaker said. "In addition to continuing to investigate these horrific crimes, we will continue to investigate the mistakes our department made along the way. We should have and could have stopped these slayings, and it's up to us to understand where and why we failed."
