Architecture of the WAHQ

Postby Unibot » Thu Apr 30, 2009 2:38 pm

Since the completion of the WAHQ, would it be helpful to organize a listing of the different levels, wings, sections, parks and water slides in the building?

I don’t know how it was done with the NSUN, so please enlighten me if people’s offices weren’t just decided on in a thread like this for architecture.

But I’d love to create a list of the building’s facilities using the collaborations from diplomats – if this isn’t something that should be left to someone of the WAHQ Management or the Secretariat, of course.

I'd leave it up to WA Building Mgmt, actually, since they were in charge of the old UNHQ, but I would advise patience: they are very slow-moving bureaucracy.

Well I've got a list I started beforehand of all of the game created and user created organizations that I could find.

Possibly it could be of use to someone else...

    WA Political Stability Council*
    WA Advancement of Industry Council
    WA Moral Decency Council
    WA Repeals Council
    WA Free Trade Council
    WA International Security Council
    WA Recreational Drug Use Council
    WA Social Justice Council
    WA Human Rights Council
    WA Education and Creativity Council
    WA Environmental Council *
    WA Furtherment of Democracy Council
    WA Gun Control Council
    WA Global Disarmament Council
    WA Gambling Council
    WA Bookkeeping Council

    World Assembly Demining Agency (WADA)
    World Assembly Environmental Council (WAEC)
*Game Created Councils are seen in a nation’s happenings when one creates a proposal in a particular category.

*The WA Environmental Council has been established once as a neutral organization in a proposal of the same name, and once as the official WA office for environmental proposals.

Perhaps you could make a basic floor listing...

We'll get to it when we get to it. If you don't like how slow our bureaucracy is, that's too bad, deal with it.

A short, plain letter, discreetly handed to the UNBM representative:

I'd get you for that, if it wasn't for the bloody UN keeping me in this sandy country. Copyright indeed...

Possibly we could send one of those nice animatronic Gratwicks to scare those gnomes into working faster? ;)

Calling all established WA players :

I was wondering if a map of the NSUN or the WA territory (where the HQ and the Stranger's Bar is located) has ever been created?

No, and since no one can decide where the UN/WA headquarters are located, or even if they "exist" in the normal physical sense, I can't imagine any map-making project would end up being very productive.

Reading material that may prove useful

I don't think "Sovereign UN Territory" and "Sovereign WA Territory" were ever an actual "thing"; it's sort of a running "joke" on the UN/WA forum, like a special "lair" for Gratwick and her evil henchmen. Most players don't consider it be the actual HQ for the UN or the WA.

Interesting...

I was going to leave the map fairly vague for elaboration but include some details that had been brought up over the years - It's for roleplaying by the way.

Was there not a teashop or something of the sort that opened up beside the HQ? - These sort of things would be important to know, I'm going to have to do a lot of research in "old" texts to gather a good sense of the layout.

No, and since no one can decide where the UN/WA headquarters are located, or even if they "exist" in the normal physical sense, I can't imagine any map-making project would end up being very productive.

I'd imagine it wouldn't exist in the conventional three dimensional sense - in fact showing the territory on a international map would be impossible because the territory exists everywhere and nowhere at all times in higher dimensional space, hah. That's how I see it.

The NSwiki article has a list of the businesses that were extant in the old UN building; there was an all-night buffer on the 25th floor, a seafood restaurant on the 28th, several coffee shops, supermarkets, and other convenience stores... the Vastiva Memorial Reflecting Pool outside the building, as well as "My Struggle Against the Feral Babies of Glog."

I do not think we've ever come up with a list that includes WA/UN commissions created by resolutions; I actually think that would be a brilliant idea.

I saw a few old UN committees on the wiki index, but the UN had dozens of them, so it was a drop in the bucket, basically.
