Leaving Nationstates

Postby Absolvability » Tue Jul 28, 2009 7:07 am

I'd like to have more time to say a goodbye, but I just don't. I'm leaving in about 40 minutes to go to Fort Jackson for bootcamp. A lot of you knew that I wouldn't be here long, but I still wanted to give an official goodbye. I really enjoyed playing this game, and will most definately be back to continue the next chance I get. Unfortunately that won't be for a few months, at least.

Special thanks to Al-Aqar, Amour and NX. Made Regionale what it is, and the reason why I enjoyed 'living' there.

Thanks to Sionis, Studly, Qumkent, and Glen-Rhodes for never failing to spice up the politics. If all four of you aren't here when I get back... I'll be really pissed off.

Oh, I'd also like to thank Ardchoille for being a great moderator. Gave me some stern TGs in my early days and helped me develop, as well as somehow finding time to contribute viewpoints of his strikingly original nation to issues from time to time. 'ppreciate the good work, mate.

And while I'm on the topic of moderation, I'm totally aware that this is not the correct place for this thread. However, this is where my interactions were, and this is where I can be sure that everyone will see. So feel free to iLock it; I won't be around to see responses anyway. I'll say "I'm sorry," one last time ~_^. Bye everyone.

Best of luck in your future.

If you can, you should set your nation on vacation mode so it doesn't expire. It'll give you a greater chance to log in.

Also, since you never participated in NSG and only in the WA, I do think this is the right place for your farewell thread.

Aw, damn! Just as we were getting you licked into shape!

I guess it wouldn't be appropriate to say "enjoy" boot camp, but ... endure. Good luck!

OOC: Well, good luck. Fort Jackson is not a pleasant place this time of year but you'll do fine.

We often butted heads in the past and I even got a forum ban for flaming you (can't remember which nation I was using)*, but I always read your posts and found them insightful if infuriating. Come back when you get internet access again, we'll still be here.

No worries, I'm definitely not going to lock this. This (edited to correct this, had II on my mind  ) was your community, so this is suited for here. Good luck with bootcamp, and we look forward to you coming back!

Okay, so I'm leaving tomorrow morning. These recruiters really don't know what the hell they're doing. I had like 3 false alarms getting ready to go to MEPS and take the ASVAB and all that jazz... and yesterday, as it turned out, they hadn't secured me a ride on their little bus thing. Jesus Christ. Like, you'd think it would be fairly hard to get into the military, but fairly frickin easy to get sent to bootcamp. Talk about a mindfuck too. I said goodbye to everyone here at home... listened to them cry... omg... and now I gotta do it all over again. Not to mention I was ready to go.

Oh well. Another few days with my girl, and a chance to come here and see what yall said about me behind my back. -snickers-

New Rockport wrote:We'll miss you. Good luck!

Thank you! I'll need all the luck I can get, I reckon.
Tiesabre wrote:Aww, I liked ya/ The General Assembly will be a different place without ya.

I liked you too. The GA will be different without me... but, possibly, decidedly better. ~_^

Sionis wrote:Oh boy, I'll miss you so much. Godspeed!

I'll be back before too long. You have your life... and mine will be going pretty fast for the next few months. Keep fighting the good fight. We agree on a lot of things; I'll be back to cheerlead for your well-written resolutions in no time.

Kryozerkia wrote:Best of luck in your future.

Yeah, I'll do that. I'd hate to have to restart when I come back. I rather like the way my nation shaped up.

Ardchoille wrote:Aw, damn! Just as we were getting you licked into shape!

Haha. Yeah, you did a pretty good job (I'd like to think.) But now I've got to go get licked into shape in other areas. With any luck, I'll be in the best shape of my life by the time I get back.

Charlotte wrote:The honoured ambassador to Charlotte Ryberg is thankful to the ambassadors of Absolvability for their services and company to the World General Assembly and wishes them the very best of luck.

High praise... and I'm probably not deserving. I'll take it though! Keep up the good work while I'm away. I haven't been here long, but you've been a constant contributor of good legislation. You're one of the many people I didn't mention specifically, but I hope you know how much you've added to nationstates and my experiences.

Bears wrote:OOC: Goodbye!

(Nobody's "baggsied" his office here yet?!? ;))

It was really a pity when you started making all your posts OOC, Bears. I miss Mr. Redwood... and I'll miss you too. Hope you're still around when I get back. The role-player in me has always loved the more unique nations around here. I never knew Bears could be so insightful! Oh... and since I fully intend on coming back to reclaim my office, I'll temporarily give it to Bob Flibble. I think we all saw that one coming.

I'd say something here but the Army has a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy, lol.

-chuckles- That's the fun of this game. So many intelligent people... and the chance to argue points of opinion rather than fact. Hard not to get angry sometimes, eh? Through it all though-- it's been fun.

Urgench wrote:Hey I love people who get on my tits, and you still have the honour of being my first and only block.

It works out, cuz I love tits! <_< It's a dubious honor, but one that I'll accept thankfully. At least I'm not still there. Don't you fret though; when I get back I'll still be an insufferable bastard!

Glen-Rhodes wrote:I'll be here. :) But I'll make sure to repeal "Access to Science in Schools" before you come back.

Ooooh you sneaky devil. Good luck with that. I really don't look forward to having to re-support it when I get back... but, y'know, in retrospect that was the single-most epic point in my short NS career. So I guess it won't be too bad to do it all over again!

Euroslavia wrote:No worries, I'm definitely not going to lock this. This (edited to correct this, had II on my mind  ) was your community, so this is suited for here. Good luck with bootcamp, and we look forward to you coming back!

Good lord, I got three mods responding to this! Just goes to show what a troublestarter I had been here. Mwahaha. I appreciate the leniency in letting this thread go. Thanks for the best wishes, Euro, and keep up the good work! You mods keep this place running, and you do a helluva job soothing spirits in the festering snake pit.
