Passed Resolutions (sorted by category)

I saw a post in the Tech forum that I actually thought was interesting. I'm always curious about what category different passed resolutions fall into, so I thought I'd work on putting this "reference" together.

For the record, yes, I am aware of this NS Wiki page. However, some of the colors are fairly similar - to my eyes, at least - so having a categorical run-down would be helpful for me.

The Minor Countries seemed to think that having a reference like this would make it easier to make sure that new nations don't write duplicating proposal drafts. (Or writing contradictory drafts, I suppose.)

I have the categories listed below in the order in which they're listed in the Rules for GA Proposals. I've linked to each "proposal" on Kenny's list of Passed World/General Assembly Resolutions. I've included since-repealed resolutions and try to denote "REPEALED" after those, so it's clear that those resolutions are no longer in effect.

I'm open to suggestions if you have any ideas on how to make this sort of reference more useful and/or user-friendly. :)

If you want to jump to a particular Resolution Category, see the following links:

Last added: GA#289 - need link for #289

For those interested in reading a codex of passed resolutions on your phone/tablet/etc., I have compiled an epub file with that information. Other ebook formats are available on request - just leave a comment.

I have 2 epubs currently in my Dropbox here. I have one that is ALLLLL of the legislation our fair body has passed over the years. (here) The repealed resolutions should show up as being struck out.

In the second, I removed all of the repealed legislation AND all of the resolutions that were repeals. So, for the moment, it's all the resolutions currently in effect. (here)

I'll try to keep both updated, as I update this list, so they won't be instantly up-to-date, but it's on my to-do-list, I guess, as well.

I'm open to suggestions, if anyone has further thoughts on how to make this sort of thread more useful. I'm planning to put in the basics of what each category means (i.e. the one-line description auto-generated depending on what category is selected), and I may be willing to link up/list out some of the historic resolutions, if there's interest in that sort of thing. I can include the Rules thread information - if people think that would be useful (i.e. another place for n00bs to totally ignore the rules) and if the mods give the okay. I don't want to presume and/or give the impression that I am in any way in charge of the rules. Because, ya know .... totally not true. :P

I can link up NS-Wiki pages (if they exist) and/or Debate Threads, too. However, Kenny has that pretty much taken care of in his thread, so I'm not sure if the duplicate linking is needed.

Of course, if I'm the only one who has any interest in having this sort of online reference, that works too. I'll still try to keep it up to date, but I'd be more likely to keep it basic and streamlined, more or less as-is.

Point being, if you have feedback or comments, please do let me know. Since I'm not reposting the entire text of a resolution, I don't need to keep this thread "all for my use," so to speak. I reserved a few extra posts, as you can see above, in case The Secretariat decides to roll out any additional categories. Or if someone has some fabulous idea of something else that needs to be included - but needs its own post.

Awesome job, mousey. I'll make sure to link to this in the passed resolutions sticky. 8)

(GR's most recent FoD res isn't there yet; I know, but I'll add it shortly.)

Yeah, I noticed. :P I figured we can do a tag-team effort to get this thread (and your thread) updated. I'd prefer to link to your post (over the "official" WA list) mostly because you link to the debate thread(s) and the NSWiki pages, if any.

See? I keep my promises! Sometimes a month late, but I (eventually) keep them!

I updated the thread too, so now you can add the links for the new resolutions.

Fabulous, thanks, Kenny! I have through 136 in this thread, so far - and only repeals have been passed since then (so far). I'll try to update this some more later this week sometime.

:)
