[DRAFT] WA Condemnation of Terrorism

Postby New Severania » Fri Nov 19, 2010 8:37 pm

DEFINING terrorism as acts of evil and hatred to targeted nations. That terrorist acts kill thousands of innocent people in our very own countries. That radicals go out of their way to cause destruction, usually through suicide bombings, car bombings, ect.

KNOWING that terrorism is an evil movement of destruction in our world. It has caused destruction all over our world, cuasing both pshycological and physical effects in our world. Knowing that alot of our fellow WA nations nations are engaged in expensive wars against these acts. Also knowing that a few nations even help these terrorists by paying them or supplying them.

CONDEMNING that these nations supply these radicals with bombs, money, and weapons. That these nations are somewhat responsible for the destruction of other human beings. That these nations just sell their supplies for the money, not even realizing, or sometimes even knowing what the weapons will be used for.

BANNING the following acts towards terrorist groups:
1) Trading weapons of mass destruction with these radicals.
2) Trading all types of weapons and equipment with terrorists.
3) Showing public support of terrorist group's actions and plans.

URGING WA nations to secretly or openly fight these terroritsts. That WA nations make little or none communication with these groups and their leaders.

HEREBY condemns world terrorism.

What do you guys think?

Terrorism is already addressed in the first, cyberterrorism in the second, and I believe piracy is covered somewhere as well.

Well it depends how much you tweak it. You can't submit a proposal that covers things that are already directly addressed in other proposals. If you see something missing in the above two resolutions then by all means create a new resolution to fill the hole, but don't try and write one just to write it.

You're welcome. As a general rule you should check the list of passes resolutions if you have an idea, that way you can review the old law and see if it is good, and whether anything needs to be added in or if it needs to be repealed.

Would your "tweaked" proposal do anything to discourage or prohibit, say, peace negotiations with rebel groups? After all, that's communication with terrorists, depending upon your definitions, right?

One person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter.
