what about drugs?

Postby Nova Caeli » Tue Nov 16, 2010 3:17 pm

hi i am trying to get endorsements, and stuff to put a poposal to legalize drugs is....... would that idea be popular in the WA? :?:
and i might as well ad why i believe it would be good, for those who say no drugs are dangerous more people will die because of it! thats not true especially since if the government was the one selling the drugs they could be tested as to get rid of the things which really shouldnt be there in the drugs, for instance heroin argued the most dangerous drug out there (forgetting alchohol and tobacco) the reason its so dangerous is because of the things it is mixed in with normally very strange and dangerous substances, achemical cocktail if you will, you buy it from an illegal drug dealler you have no idea what is inside what you are buying leading to sometimes fatal consequences. While if the government was the one organizing or at least supervising the making of drugs the most strange substance will be removed creating the more safe purer substance (even cannabis now skunk is full of strange substances which really should be tested in a lab but it isnt, sine it is illegal) I all together agree with legalizing for many reasons such as the one given, as well it would lower crime since organized crime who are the ones who normally sell it would lose their main way of financing their other terrible doings since everyone would be buying from the government, not from the less safe underworld. Not to mention how tobacco and achohol are legal the tow most dangerous drugs out there hence it makes no sence that most drugs arent, when the tow big killers are legal. And people can seek help in hospitals, and such with out the worry of being arrested for intake, these people need help and making them 'criminals' isnt going to stop it. And on a more economic note taxing of drugs would make quite a hefty sum of money for the governmet.
So if you dont agree with legalizing normally agree with it since by legalizing it it can be restricted and made potentially much more safe than it is currently
what do you think? if you are interested would yyou think of possibly help form the proposal with others? and if you disagree why?
and if there has been any proposals before hand of this sort involving drugs please inform me so i can add to the argument or find the faults in the proposal thankyou

We suggest spaming your Regions Message Board (RMB) for endorsements. That said a proposal on drugs (either to legalize or de-legalize) is unlikely to see the light of day.
All posts should be assumed to be IC unless I am using an OOC indicator.

In the entire history of the WA and its predecessor only one Recreational Drug Use proposal has ever passed, the UN Drug Act so it's fairly safe to say that most proposals in that category are DOA. But if you do decide to pursue your proposal, be sure to post it here prior to submitting it.

My statement remains correct, the resolution you linked to was filed under International Security not Recreational Drug Use.
