If the Kingdom of Cardoness, with an military force of about 300,000, is attacked by another country with a vastly superior military in manpower, say 1,000,000, the only way for us to win would be the use of nuclear weapons. However, if they do not have nuclear weapons themselves we would be unable to respond. Then, instead of a responsible nation like ours having them, a nation that has shown their willingness to wage war will have captured them. Further, it does not matter if this other nation is a member of the WA or not. Sometimes the only thing keeping a large state from taking over a small state is that the small state has nukes and the large state does not.
