Robin Hood Act

Postby 148 Barnsley » Fri Sep 03, 2010 6:42 pm

The worlds poorer countries are struggling to feed and sustain themselves, this is draining the resources of the richer world.
If the countries that can affors to pay for themselves help out those that cant, then the global economy will benefit from more resources being available and greater increases in technology.
The time has come for the rich to help the poor, and they can do this through a mandatory 5% of their anual income being given to developing countries, this will aid their economic growth and help to reduce their debts.

I herby propose this to the General Assembly.

A fantastic idea, we'll support, but only if you'll give me some of your hash.

I'd like some too. Please? Pretty please? I have to see this from the angle of the proposal writer. Otherwise, I'm completely lost just trying to comprehend the legality of this. Maybe after experiencing whatever it was they were on, I just might see it.

"Or maybe they've got a Little John?" Eduard added.

No . . . the issue we see is that there needs to be finer detail as to what this money is spent on rather than just given, we are in support but it needs to be a tighter proposal.

Paula takes the baggie, slipping it into a pocket. "Thanks. You're such a darling." She rolls her eyes at being called a 'babe' though.

We believe this is absurd.
How 5% of the incomes from richest countries could possibly guarantee a positive development of the poorer?
This is nonsense.

Only if we can be classed as poor.
Welcome to 1938.

I thought ten thousand swords must have leaped from their scabbards to avenge even a look that threatened her with insult. But the age of chivalry is gone. That of sophisters, economists, and calculators has succeeded; and the glory of Europe is extinguished for ever.

If this gave something back, such as military basing rights maybe. As it stands the only thing I can think of to do with this proposal is print it out and use it as toilet paper.

We will never support this act. If we managed to develop ourself - we dont see any reason why others cant and it is not responsibility of our citizen to pay for other nations.

Ambassador, you really shouldn't write proposals that require drugs to see. Now I have to go all the way up to my office to fetch a few tabs. :(
If you see I've made a mistake in my wording or a factual detail, telegram me and I'll fix it. I'll even give you credit for pointing it out, if you'd like.

It would technically be pronounced like "Ħduard Ħø", which is sort of like saying "Heh-d'yard Ha'er" in a rough Russian sort of accent.

Let me get this straight, you claim that the poorer countries are draining the resources of the richer ones so to stop it you want to take the resources, in this care money, of the richer ones and give them to the poorer ones. Wouldn't that just perpetuate the cycle?
