Self-Defense for all!

Casta Nal would like to pass a resolution allowing the people to own weapons( it also includes martial arts) for self-defense with the status of hunting rights being handled by soverign nations. Some minor restritions would apply such as no doomsday devices, nukes, or the use of Chuck Norris. The people would be tested and trained to properly have theier weapons. Safety would be high and licenses requiring registration would be needed. People can choose whether or not to have a minigun or Bat'leth if they wanted too. People would be trained to use them responibly. They may use the weapons for hunting (if allowed by nation), self-defense at home, self-defense at public places, and may carry them concealed if the weapons may fit. This would reduce crime because no one messes with the old dude with an AK , nature attacks, and increase national secruity. Please comment on this matter because I would like to make this a resolution with enough support. Hunting rights would have to be apporiate for species being hunted but it is totally up to the nation to hunt or not to hunt.

Others have tried to pass proposals which allow all individuals to possess firearms, but they have all failed. If you want to try, go for it. I would suggest you write an actual proposal and post it to the forum for suggestions.

My government is unconvinced that the right to defend oneself sits with the right to possess automatic rifles, rpgs, and tanks.

Seriously people ,freedom to own and use responsibly an RPG is similar to speech. If zombies ttack and the people are overwhelmed becuase they have no weapons I will still try to save you. I understnd why there are dissenters (what if the old guy has flashbacks of Nam').

Pursuing this is a lost cause. This is too controversial a topic to really gain any real footing. I suggest putting your efforts towards something a little more agreeable.

Besides, NatSov, yadda yadda. Nations should be able to choose how and what weapons should be available to their own citizenry within their borders, blah blah. Stop trying to micromanage the world, so on and so forth.

We are unsure how you do things in your country, but the reason you have given for this is why we have an army, navy and air force .. trained and equipped to deal with that. Our nation firmly believes in the right to own weapons, but to trust an untrained, poorly led and ill disciplined force to defend your nation? We are truly amazed your nation even still exists to write something as fundamentally moronic as something which grants the right to own functional military grade weapons.

We still have military but the people are trained to high standards and are part of the militia which gives them a tax discount. Miltia service is not mandatory for every person with a weapon or person. Old lady with claymores are our last line defense after our entire real Navy(Aero-Space), Marines (Planetary Land and Sea), Naval Special Branches ( Special Forces, Irrgulars, Support, Cyberwarfare), Defense Forces, Excuitive Agents, Real Milita, Police Forces, and lastly old ladies! Also our Peacemaker Agents are in every level.

This idea has all the bouyancy of a brick. It has as much chance of gaining popular support as "slug-on-a-stick" frozen treats. It has intellectual insight on par with "The Big Book of Circuses".

Crime is commen in many nations but the people need protection if the secruity is absent or is harasing them!

Yeah. How wonderful for you. It still does not explain your reasoning to wish the entire WA become CastaNalClones. And frankly, if you feel you must rely on that many levels of defense, and that an "old lady with claymores" is your last hope, your nation is probably already screwed by that time. So, that would sort of mean your premise is invalid, wouldn't you think?

Gun ownership laws are something that a nation should decide for themselves. We cannot support mandatory gun ownership anymore than we can mandatory banning of guns. This is not for the WA to dictate to nations.

Lookthere is a lot of safety in this many training courses,licenses, evalutions, regulations, and it is not complusary! So do not have to own a battle ax!

A united postal union can reduce unnecessary hassle, and the right to drink clean water is a fundamental right to all humans. The right to bear arms is more controversial, because you can easily use it to commit not-so-innocent acts. In other words, if you need to defend yourself, grab a kitchen knife.
