yes, we regret that as well, considering what an ill-advised badly written bit of twaddle this is. We, for one, shall not be adding our approval to this.

incredilbly expensive and is not an option for small developing nations! this proposal would suck up all remaining profits from the poor, weak, emerging economies.causing them not to be able to develop properly and care for their citizens. if this proposal was accepted, poor countries would have to cut on health care department, education department, sanitation department, safety departments, welfare department, etc . quality of lives in those countries would decrease and cause more problems like diseases, riots basically chaos in the country and the government cannot do any thing to help the people. however if you edit your proposal to let developing countries without steady economies to be excused and be excused until the country has a steady economy strong enough to support the cost and maintenance of these new ways of creating energy. :eyebrow:

Hoping round 4 works out. Heavily reduced the amount of fossil use reductions required, as well as the impact on developing nations via economic assistance. Also introduced newer energy options under point 8.

Clean Industry Act

Category: Environmental
Strength: Strong
Industry Affected: All Businesses

Understanding that the Promotion of Sustainable Development is a stated goal of the WA,

The World Assembly,

AWARE that the use of fossil fuels in heavy industries has continued despite evidence to cause harm to envirornmental and human health.

DEFINES Fossil Fuels as but not limited to:

i)Petroleum & Refined Oil

ii)Natural Gas

iii)Coal

IDENTIFIES the environmental damage from fossil fuels to include, but not limited to:

i) Increased rates of deforestation to obtain and locate coal and oil reserves.

ii) Higher levels of air pollution from the combustion of the aforementioned fossil fuels.

iii) Incidents of industrial incidents with regards to the extraction, refinement and transportation of crude and refined oil.

iv) Increased levels of greenhouse gases contributing to climate change.

HEREBY DECLARES that all Member Nations are to reduce the use of fossil fuels by 10% of their current consumption in both industrial activities and energy generation.

FURTHER DEMANDS that current net exporters of fossil fuels are to switch to more sustainable extractive processes from existing sources of fossil fuels.

ACKNOWLEDGES the Member States' existing requirements of energy and industrialisation for purposes of economic growth and development.

MANDATES That all developed WA Member States will be required replace current forms of energy generation with the following forms of alternative energy, including but not limited to:

i)Hydro-Electric Power (HEP)

ii)Solar Power

iii)Wind Energy

iv)Biomass (Use of biofuels and organic waste)

v)Geothermal Energy

vi)Nuclear Fusion

Och Aye, Because everybody knows that massive wholesale abandonment of existing infrastructure and replacing it with more expensive and less cost effective alternatives is the veritable recipe for success and growth.

Strength: Strong

The only thing "strong" about this is the odor coming off it.

(and by the by, "environmental" category doesn't have a strength, just an area affected.)

And just how are "Less Developed Member States" to be determined? I see no classification in this resolution. Also, although I support your intent, I do not believe this proposal will work. It is very similar to that old theory of Communism. It looks great on paper, but unless everyone one the entire planet is on board, it just don't work.

The draft is still flawed, because it is now falling foul of the optionality rule in which any nation can claim to be in a recession and thereby be able to ignore the resolution. Also, the use of US dollars are real-life references which isn't allowed in proposals.

Anyway, explicitly exempting any nations from a proposal's effects is 'illegal': All resolutions must affect (at least in theory) all of the WA's members...

Although this representative is please to see that the author is taking some of the comments made by the honorable members of this august body to heart, we find the insistence that this legislation is workable very disquieting. My government completely agrees with the intent of this legislation, however as a nation which already uses 100% clean energy, this is completely redundant for us. In addition, there are many nations of many different technology levels and I do not see how you can legislate a technology their nation may not have even conceived of much less made practical.

I think that would be advisable. This has no timeline for reduction, arbitrary percentages for reduction, is a huge burden on developing and past-tech nations, and way more other problems that I probably missed with just my cursory read.

5.HEREBY DECLARES that all Mamber Nations are to reduce the use of fossil fuels by 25% of their current consumption in both industrial activities and energy generation.

6.FURTHER DEMANDS that current net exporters of fossil fuels are to switch to more sustainable processes of obtaining fossil fuels from existing sources.

Who do we switch an oil well? A coal Mine? There are few ways to get oil and coal out of the ground, and most nations exost all posibilities to do it enviromentally friendly.

8.MANDATES That all WA Member States are to replace current forms of energy generation with the following forms of alternative energy, including but not limited to:

i)Hydro-Electric Power (HEP)
ii)Solar Power
iii)Wind Energy
iv)Geothermal Energy
v)Nuclear Fusion
vi)Nuclear Fission

Most of these don't even close come to producing as much power as a coal plant or an oil plant. The others are rather dangerous, such as Nuclear Fusion and fission. What if a Nation doesn't have the adequite technology to refine Uranium into a usable substance? What about a meltdown? That woul F@ck up the enviroment more than a few cars.

You really want to talk numbers? You talk about reducing the ammounts of fossil fuels used by 25%? Over how many years? An immediate drop in 25% would destroy any developing nation that holds their economy by a string over an oilfield. Fossil Fuels are money, and your alternatives are not as environmentally stable as you thing.

Nuclear power plants generate more smog than they are worth, and let's not even go to town on wind powerd turbines. The construction of each turbine harms the environment, more than it will ever help on the whole. The construction of them releases carbon into our atmosphere, and harms the environment much more than fossil fuels do, and that is only in the short term
