The Fine Arts Act

A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity
Area of Effect: Artistic
Proposed by: Demphor

Description: The General Assembly,

Scientific studies on regualr students have successfuly shown that an increase in Fine Arts funding (Music, Drama, Art, and Band) improves the grades of the average student in any School that offer classes in Social Studies, Language Arts (Spelling), Foreign Language, Mathematics, etc by improving their attention span, and focus. Fine Arts classes also improve the manners of a student of any age by teaching them that they must take care of something that is not theirs.

RECOGNIZING that a school that does not have these classes avalaible DECREASES the chance of the average student getting into a University or other advanced schools because the student won't focus, concentrate or they break somthing that is not theirs.

If school funding for Fine Arts does not increase, then schools will have less and less Straight A students which will decrease the amount of people getting a good education, affecting their future success. Example: If a student wants to go to engineering school, it WILL affect their learning, and they may not become an enginer due to their lack of patience and focus.

Therefore be it Resolved That,

The World Assembly General Fund (WAGF) be used to help increase funding for the average school and fund each countries education commitie and its curriculum with 10,000 currency notes yearly (getting it from WA nations), in which they can pay a little at a time, or in their own way.

Examlpe: Arathian nation is in the WA so he will pay 10,000 Ding-Dongs

The nations that get the fund can use their school money to provide the wages to the teachers, janitors, and administrators running the schools.

Also recognizing that the nations can use their school money to build facilities.

Also recognizing that Fine Arts should be added to nations which do not have Fine Arts in their countries curriculum, supported with significant funding for paintbrushes, paint, musical instuments, sheets of music, books on acting, and teachers.

read carfully, please :)

What has changed? Besides changing from dollars to ding-dongs. Other than some very slight rewording, nothing has changed with this. Nothing.

We are curious as to why you are so stubborn as to refuse any advise and/or comments as to how to make this acceptable? Are you that much in love with this project of yours that you believe you can disregard all advise, make no substantial changes to that which has been repeatedly pointed out as being unacceptable, and yet somehow still manage to gain the support of delegates? Standing up for what you believe is a fine quality. To do so at the expense of reason and common sense is not.

We shall try one more time. You ask that we all 'read carefully". We would recommend the same of you. Go back, re-read ALL comments made on this subject....THEN come back to us with a completely reworked draft, because as this one stands, it is as previously stated, unacceptable.

Bloody stupid, poorly written, terrible formatting, arbitrary reference to a specific number of a random currency, quite possibly optional, if not easy to loophole, naming a random uninvolved nation as an example, and lastly and most importantly, Gray's Harbor did not co-author. I believe I speak for the entire assembly when I suggest the swift and immediate defenestration of the ambassador from Demphor.

Demphor, I've deleted some of your posts. If you're roleplaying a sulky nine-year-old, please give ambassadors a little more background on the character so we don't blame it on you-the-player.

The Fine Arts Act
A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity
Area of Effect: Artistic
Proposed by: Demphor

Description: The General Assembly,

Scientific studies have successfuly shown that an increase in Fine Arts funding (Music, Drama, Art, and Band) improves the grades of the average student in any School that offer classes in Social Studies, Language Arts (Spelling), Foreign Language, Mathematics, etc. Fine Arts classes also improve the manners of a average aged student by teaching them that they must take care of something that is not theirs.

RECOGNIZING that a school that does not have these classes avalible DECREASES the chance of the average student getting into a University or other advanced schools.

If school funding for Fine Arts does not increase, then schools will have less and less Straight A students which will decrease the amount of people getting a good education, affecting their future success.

Therefore be it Resolved That,

The World Assembly Education Fund (WAEF) be established to increase funding for the average school and fund each Countries Education Board to fund their School Districts and their curriculum(s), including giving a fair wage to the teachers, janitors, and administrators running the school.

Also recognizing that Fine Arts should be added to the countries School Board which do not have Fine Arts in their School District's curriculum, be supported with significant funding which can be used for buying paintbrushes, paint, musical instuments, sheets of music, books on acting, and hiring teachers.

Also recognizing that the schools that are funded can use the funds to hire constuction workers to build any extra rooms needed and giving them materials and wages as required.

Hearby establishing the WAEF and increasing the amount of funding in Fine Arts.

Why has this been resubmitted? It was bad legislation before, and is still bad legislation.

I know, it drives me nuts to see people think band is a part of music class. Just does not feel right.

OOC: You completely missed my point. I was observing, tongue-in-cheek, that school bands do not produce music.
