yes you do! you have to! how else could it be if you didnt and the WA doesnt have a police force? Don't you capture and bring "war criminals" or even international criminals to justice and the like?

Well this is what my president said during the ICC debate after that passed so you tell me if I'm capturing anyone...

"I rise in strong opposition to this illegal travesty of a sham of a resolution! We are not an international court, nor do we have any right or reason to be one. We shall not in any way, shape, or form cooperate with this ICC. We will not hand over any Philimbeisan to it's clutches, nor will we participate in the apprehension of anyone it seeks. Any foreign police forces attempting to enter the USP will be politely refused once, and then forcibly removed after that.

Further, should any Philmbesian be taken into custody or incarcerated by it, we shall treat that act as a hostage situation, bringing the full measure and strength of The United States of Philimbesi to release them forthwith. "

Sooo ahhh not so much...

The ICC uses nations as proxies to capture war criminals. As I've said before, all those rules against a WA police force can be bypassed by using proxies. Philimbesi, if they're in the WA, technically has to try and capture war criminals... But nothing stops them from being utterly inadequate.

My apologies to Philimbesi, my mistake

So the WA makes itself somewhat legit by using WA members as proxies, but WA members don't have to be on par.

Are you also saying that WA can enforce itself and look out for its best interest by using militias, security firms, etc as proxies? If so then my proposal is redundant, seeing as its already happening with the ICC.

If you read my last post, Eraplevok, I explained how gnomes and the compliance ministry are not breaking the rules. Rules are for proposals. The Compliance Ministry, as a hard-coded part of the game, is a part of the organization itself. It isn't in a proposal, therefore it is not subject to the rules.

More importantly: The rules have been stated. You know what they are. You don't have to agree, but you have to comply. Do so, or leave. It's your choice.

I thought you were being all serious at first since it was my intent to hurt your feelings beyond repair and have it so you would never ever disagree with me again...

Then I read the second line you typed, and realized you were being sarcastic. Then I was all like shoot! I thought I had you, but obviously not.

Well, seems to me several proposals were passed that were illegal, so I was all like, "why not this one?"
But then with the ICC, it seems there is no need for this proposal, the WA has its proxies to do its work.

Nigel opens the translator machine on his desktop, scrolls through the chips, till he comes to Eraplevok's, pulls the chip out. Places it on the floor and drops his right foot down on it hard. He places his headphones back on, and is at bliss with the immediate soul inspiring silence.

Fortunately the ambassador of Eraplevok is a master of all known languages especially the native language of philimbesi

Grays Harbor :palm: Listen to Glen-Rhodes, he knows it better than I. Maybe not "illegal" but certainly a HUGE loophole with the ICC and member states as proxies. My proposal is just more overt than the ICC resolution.

Perhaps an RPer can tell me: Is that Godmoding or wanking? Either way, I think it's time to fire up the IGNORE cannons...

It's a godmod, but in general I've found that some degree of godmoding is okay in the WA as long as you don't kill off somebody else's character or something.

Even so, I agree that the move was petulant and in poor form.

oh brother, seriously? You gotta be kidding... Please for the love of God you are just joking...

Its funny cause I already know what the response will be - it will be no, and then an attack on my character, and then perhaps a tirade on how I don't understand the rules along with how offended they are. not exactly in that order. I can't tell what tone it will be though - sarcastic or dead serious, either way it makes me sad.

What makes us sad is the way you continue to persist with this in the face of it being completely illegal. And we are still waiting for your "evidence" that "many other passed proposals are illegal".

To my knowledge, precisely one passed resolution was illegal under the rules that existed at the time of its passage. That was 'Max Barry Day', and the only reason it got to voting floor was because the mods just missed deleting it from the proposals list. Alas, once on the voting floor, it was beyond Modly power to block, and for some odd reason [violet] didn't feel like completely recoding the game in order to stop one single resolution. 'Max Barry Day' was soon enough repealed.

So yes, I really can't see where this argument of 'many other illegal resolutions' is coming from.

OOC: Well, there's the just-passed 'Nautical Pilotage Act' which Flib said is (but hadn't been spotted in time as) illegal for 'branding'...

Well, I had temporarily forgotten that. So two. But two is not 'many'.

ORDER shall be under control by one man

Quite apart from the illegality of this resolution, this is particularly unacceptable.
Welcome to 1938.

I thought ten thousand swords must have leaped from their scabbards to avenge even a look that threatened her with insult. But the age of chivalry is gone. That of sophisters, economists, and calculators has succeeded; and the glory of Europe is extinguished for ever.
