Drafting a SC thingy.

(As the Wads enter the bar, Ari wrinkles his nose -- What is that awful noise? he says to himself. It sounds like someone is strangling a Furling. He nods at Arya, who makes her way to the bar to place their order. Ari and Ahume head to an unoccupied booth, but are frozen in their tracks when they overhear:)

"Damn, please tell me it isn't karaoke night again? I thought those were.. Er... Discontinued"

(Wad Ahume straightens up and looks like he's about to goes into convulsions, then speaks in his abnormally loud and uncomfortable voice.)

"WHAT? WHAT DID YOU SAY?"

(Ari momentarily stares, eyes wide, in disbelief at Clover. He quickly approaches the specials board at the bar... scans it for several moments... and is shocked to find that Karaoke Night has, indeed, been discontinued. His head droops. He slowly approaches the booth, where his assistant blubbers and mutters incomprehensibly.)

[Elke and Elba]

"Oh, hello!" Olafsen speaks unknowingly of Wad's plight as Ari and Ahume approaches. "Do you know if there's karaoke night around? My predecessor Alethea - umm, the ambassador Moreland swears by it."

(Olafsen's words cause a renewed round of sobbing by Ahume and a renewed round of headshaking by Ari. Arya, oblivious to all that has occurred, approaches, drinks in hand, and addresses Olafsen.)

"What did you do to them?"

Clover entered the bar, nodding politely to the Wallenburg and French ambassadors, before getting her usual from the bar.

Almost immediately, the ear splitting noise hit her. "Damn, please tell me it isn't karaoke night again? I thought those were.. Er... Discontinued"

"Karaoke night??? This is a show!"

[Wadden-Amrum]

"Vancouvia was just proposed for commendation. I wish I was drunk."

[Separatist Peoples]

Bell slides over his bottle of wood alcohol.

"Wait someone's in the hospital? Weak liver." said Erika, laughing and pouring Jack Daniels into her mouth.

(Arya contemplates for a moment. Yes, she realizes, Ahume is prone to such episodes when someone disparages his sacred hobby, that must be what happened. But how to....)

(Arya's face brightens. If Erika is sloshed again... or brain-damaged enough... this just might work. She approaches the German woman singing and dancing on the bar.)

"It's not really a show unless you take your top off."

Gerald tries to ignore Lord knows what happening around him, focusing instead on Alexandra. His eyes seemed to crackle, furious flames burning within his head as he spoke, slowly and gravely.

"Madame Ambassador, should thou placest divine value on thy life or thy material strength, or thy honor, thou shalt reverse that trajectory, or loosen its cords from the full bent and reconsider thy aim. My arm doth not strike so often upon thy complexion, but for my lady, my daughter--in name if not in blood--I shall forever set myself to her defense."

(Arya waves at Ari to catch his attention. Ari looks up at the bar, and slowly smiles. Damn, Arya, keep this up and you'll have my job soon -- or maybe your mom's.)

Holy buckets, is that a nude woman? Ahume, look, it's that German lady you were ogling last night!

(Ahume abruptly lifts his head. He looks to the bar. He smiles one of those very creepy smiles, like that of a teenage boy who "accidentally" walks into the wrong locker room. Ari smiles and shakes his head at his assistant... but then, he thinks, the job's not done yet, as he approaches the bartender.)

All right, Neville. (He waves at the Bitely and WACP banners.) We always knew you were quite the capitalist, hmm? Bring back the machine. Put it on the board, two nights a week, a minimum of four hours each night. (He pulls out a giant pack of chewing gum.) How much, and what flavor?
