Rep. Trevanyika enters the bar, a revolver in her hand. She stares at the confetti strewn over the floor, her eyebrow raised. "Hmm. Strange." She then walks over to the dart board, pulls the darts from it, and levels her revolver at the board.

BANG!

ARI: Helen. Ummm. Ours was louder.

AHUME: Yes, but hers looks edible. (He sniffs the results, sticks in a finger, and dabs some on his tongue.) Or not.

ARI: So, Miss Trevanyika, what's going on?

"I'm venting," she says. "The last three weeks have been nothing but stress and anxiety for me. I've been contemplating some options to mitigate that problem. This is by far the safest option."

She fires another round at the dart board. The bullet leaves the chamber and explodes into a burst of soap bubbles.

Steph looks up suddenly, as though coming out of some kind of daze. She moseys over to the bar and orders a Romeo Utah porter. As it's being poured she glances up and down the bar.

Etoarmaapitm wrote:-looks at the collection of a people, for lack of better words, and is somewhat both amused and confused, I then look over at the two people and walk towards them- Sorry about my ignorance. However do you happen to know who I should ask for a sandwich or something?

"The main guy there is Neville, the other staff changes so often it's hard to keep track of their names, though I think there's a Jimmy that's been working here a while." Steph looks around, craning her neck to try to pick the guy out, then gives up after a few seconds, and shrugs. She picks up a menu, flips to the back where there happens to be an information and "History of the Strangers' Bar" page, and hands it to the newcomer.

ARI: Yes, it has been stressful for many of us. (He looks towards Herby.) Sigh. On the other hand, at least no one's tried to kill you today. Ahume, how many attempts does this make on our delegation's lives now? Eight? Ten?

AHUME: One.

ARI: One? Are you sure you haven't lost count somewhere?

ARI: I'll tell you what it's about, it's sabotage! High tech sabotage so we can rule out Captain Boobala. Outrageous, the lengths some people go through to quiet this delegation....

AHUME: (whispers to Helen) Ignore him. Containment field failed on our ZPM and instead of allowing the fail safe to shut it down, he insisted someone had tampered with it, and in the process -- never mind, just ignore him.

ZPM? Helen muses before deciding against asking Ahume about the acronym. "Well, I'm glad you two are safe. Regardless of whether your device was sabotaged or not." She turns back to the dart board and fires another round. This time, green mucus splurts out and spatters over the board.

Helen sighs and begins to inspect her revolver. "Damn. That probably gummed up the whole thing. Oh well, not much of a loss." She tries to fire the revolver again and the weapon jams. Shrugging, she folds it into a handkerchief and sets it down on a table.

Steph gets a faraway look in her eye and intones, "To expect one to order poison in a bar is not logical." She blinks, then looks directly at the other fellow once again. "Uh, anyway. The beer I just ordered is quite tasty, and there's every conceivable manner of other beverage available, including some quite exotic stuff. Colloquially among many of the delegations here, asking that question is an invitation to order a drink. If you want to take the saying literally, I'm told the weapons nullifiers render even methanol less toxic, though I've got no particular desire to try it."

AHUME: Safe, yes, but without the ZPM our Stargate is down. We're expecting a visitor by ship to effect repairs shortly. (He dabs a bit of the green mucus onto his tongue.) Hmmm. Definitely inedible.

Herby perks up to say something intelligent for a change, but instead his interior light goes out. He sits idle, dreaming of German women wearing too-tight tops.

OOC: I was hoping SP would come around and finish this off, but I'm guessing with the holidays here it's going to be tough for everyone to keep the story rolling. I'm signing off for a few weeks, catch you all in '16!
-- Ambassador #53. From the nation of Herby. But you can call me Herby.

Herby's doors and windows are ALWAYS locked when she's in the Strangers' Bar (unless she unlocks them for you). And, she has no accelerator, a mock steering wheel, and no gear shifter. So, no joyrides.

(Wad Ahume rematerializes, carrying an oblong cardboard box. He sets it down on a table, unwraps it, and withdraws a new ZPM, covered in bubble wrap. He unwraps it and presses a button; satisfied with its soothing hum, he turns it off. He then approaches Helen, bubble wrap in hand.)

Here. Destressing, pacifist style.

(He pops a couple bubbles and, smiling, hands it to her. He then picks up his device and leaves the bar.)

Helen takes the wrapping material and stares at it a bit. She looks at Ahume with confusion and then back down at the wrap. Putting her thumb to one of the bubbles, she presses it as Ahume did, and it pops lightly, startling her.

"Fascinating, Ahume," she smiles. "Absolutely fascinating. I suppose this is all very commonplace for your people, but in Wallenburg...this is indeed wondrous strange."

(Arya emerges from Herby, her robe wrinkled, hood down, hair disheveled, an oh-crap-I-can't-believe-I'm-still-awake look on her worn face.)

Neville. Coffee. Black. One sugar. Make it a jumbo.

Thanks, I needed that. Hey. Don't get too excited yet, but Agent Dressler thinks there's hope for Bell yet.

After recovering some of his hearing again to pick up the later points the conversation going on. Furettium looked around, seemed like everything was rather the same, he looked at Gerald, "Weren't you just dealing with a war, what happened in between to get from that to Helen being put up for removal from the job?"
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

I had some more evidence hidden away. In the wall safe in our-- in, uh, the Wads' office. Stuff in better shape, stuff I wanted nowhere near the madman's lighter. She thinks she can use it to find the original paperwork and refute the evidence that's implicating Bell. She's been going through it all night, nonstop, trying to cross-reference my copies with digital copies. Ummm. I should warn you, Helen. She's... she seems... how can I put this... just the way she's thrown herself into this, and how relieved and happy she is every time she finds a little helpful tidbit of information... Helen, I think, I'm not sure, but I think she may still have feelings for Bell.

Trevanyika looks down at the table and the bubble wrap in her hands. She squeezes on the bubbles and pops several at once. "Yes, I was starting to gather that. Given that Benjamin has actually courted her before, I have tried to show her respect but..."

Helen sighs and lets the bubble wrap fall on the table, resting her head in her left hand. "I shouldn't make this about my personal life. I'll work alongside Agent Dressler. I'll do whatever I can to help her protect Benjamin. My office's independent investigation is picking up speed, but we have yet to find solid evidence. Most of our collected files simply point to other individuals--such as Donnaugh--as additional collaborators in your smuggling ring. But we'll keep trying, and I'll report anything of significance to Dressler."

Gerald answers Furettium, "Well, our forces inspired revolution in West Wallenburg, leading to the overthrow of the imperial government. West Wallenburg is now a republic. A conservative, moralistic one, to be sure, but a republic nonetheless. The Wallenburgian delegation was then transferred from representing East Wallenburg to representing the two republics as one great nation.

Their wing of the Proletarian party has exerted such force on the political machine that her status as chief representative is at risk."
