Well, I won't even pretend to know what CDSP rules of evidence are, but in terms of what's generally acceptable in most nations? It was obtained illegally without a warrant. It's mere copies without original signatures. It contains privileged information on the shipment of arms and releasing it to a public court may not be permissible, though military tribunals may be different, obviously I don't have much knowledge on how that works. And, like I said, it doesn't really exonerate Bell, it just contradicts paperwork already submitted as evidence. Paperwork that's been obtained by the CDSP military, not a rogue ex-intern who has been diverting stolen weapons to one nation and has a "death sentence" in another. Even though what I still have hidden away is in better shape than this mess, there's still a fair amount of adhesive tape involved, and it wouldn't take much for a smart lawyer to have it deemed inadmissible. On the other hand... Perhaps this isn't entirely useless; perhaps it can put you on the track to find the originals.
"I don't think he believes that your evidence is useless at all...this absolutely merits a much closer look, I think. Miss Haces, thank you for confirming a few things for me. I have a hunch that Lupinski had some fabricated lie ready. He isn't entirely an idiot, he must have heard you setting the groundwork for an exit and tried to get a step ahead of you. If I could see the paperwork I could confirm, but most importantly, no humanitarian aid was stolen from the C.D.S.P., so unless this ring is larger than we expect, which the investigation doesn't indicate, or they have been stealing from other organizations, which is possible, Lupinski tried a fast, dirty bluff."
(Kay breathes a small sigh of relief.)
A bluff. You know, that does make more sense. I hope you're right, but I would still be relieved to hear that recent shipments of humanitarian aid, including Tollana's, were clean.
