The World Assembly,

Defining, minority language - a tongue spoken by a minority community. Regional language - dominant or widespread tongue in a specific region of the nation,

Believing that all member states should respect multicultural aspects of their respective nations, which is manifested by variety of languages. Mother tongue being the most important facet of a person's cultural life, speaking, embracing and teaching it should be considered as an indivisible part of human rights,

Concerned that minority and regional languages can often get overlooked by the representatives of the dominant culture. Nations with assimilationist policies often ignore the beauty and uniqueness of different languages and such approach might put these languages under the danger of complete extinction,

Determined to take all preventative measures to protect minority and regional languages from threats of extinction and discrimination,

Hence urges,
  • All member nations to hire social workers to discover and monitor existing minority and regional languages
  • All of the existing minority and regional languages must be recognized as one of the state languages and be protected by Ministry of Culture(or existing respective governmental organ)
  • Include minority and regional languages in national school curriculum
[1]Minority languages must be provided in elementary, middle and high schools as voluntary subjects

[2]Regional languages must be part of the compulsory curriculum in elementary, middle and high school in their respective regions. Nationwide they must be provided to all students as voluntary subjects
  • At the will of the native speakers, regional language(s) must be used, while conducting official governmental or private business affairs

Support in concept, but this draft needs some buffing and polishing before I can support in full. The format is a bit odd, as is the organization. A rather decent draft for a first time, though. First of all, have you read the GA Rules and Advice? Reading it fully is vital to succeed.

OOC: That should put an end to this effort.

“I certainly think that high schoolers have the ability to handle minority language classes. But teaching said classes in elementary and middle school is too much of a burden on the children. We certainly cannot have young kids be traumatized by minority language classes. Furthermore, how can governments and businesses run smoothly if they constantly have to switch between using multiple languages?”
