The General Assembly,
Concerned at the level of student debt present in some nations,
Recalling that student debt hampers the wellbeing of civilians through reducing disposable income and development of GDP through the limit of consumption spending,
Astounded at the number of avaricious institutions of tertiary education present in some nations,
Bearing in mind that high tuition fees disincentivizes many aspiring students from attending tertiary education,
1. Requests that all member nations place restrictions on tertiary education fees for domestic students such as but not limited to:
a. Limiting tuition fees to 8% of the average yearly income per capita of a nation,
b. Subsidization of room for the first year of tuition and the limiting of room fees to 30% of tuition fees for the years after
c. Complete subsidization of board for students throughout their stay at the college,
d. Complete subsidization of textbooks and other educational material required for the national curriculum
2. Demands the complete nationalization and free provision of at least 1 (one) tertiary educational institution in a province of a nation for domestic students, with aims such as but not limited to:
a. Provide free tertiary education for residents who do not have the financial means to travel out-of-province education
b. Guarantee a degree of state regulation of tertiary education to prevent corporate education abuse
3. Further requests the nationalization and free provision of all primary and secondary education for domestic students, to make way for legislation such as but not limited to:
a. The creation of a unitary curriculum for all primary and secondary schools
b. The creation of a standardized tertiary entrance examination that all tertiary schools must use as standard entrance policy
c. Streamlining of student careers past tertiary
4. Further demands all tertiary education curricula be sponsored by the government to ensure compatibility with secondary education curriculum and further post-tertiary career paths
5. Encourages the creation of state-sponsored part-time employment for tertiary students which would pay for tuition if necessary, in industries such as but not limited to:
a. STEM research labs for those doing STEM related degrees
b. IT and computer science for those doing IT related degrees
c. Journalism for those doing humanities related degrees
d. Civil service for those doing economics/politics related degrees
6. Declares accordingly that all student debt in member nations be unilaterally cancelled immediately after the passing of this resolution.
