There was supposed to be an adequate replacement before proposing a repeal. As I said on TSP, ''This resolution is, in a great sense, the police state being masked''.
There will be a replacement.

I don't know why we've suddenly held to this fictitious standard that every repeal needs a replacement. Something like this very much doesn't need one and it would be best for the WA not to touch policing with a nine foot pole.

Because the WA is not a hub for misinterpretations of resolutions in order to spread authoritarian agendas. Thank you for your time.

Some elaboration for the rest of us on what heinous misinterpretations exist in the repeal under discussion would be useful, I think. I'm struggling to find anything myself. I'll admit that the technological argument about universal signalling isn't terribly compelling to me (numerous resolutions passed by the GA already make radical assumptions about everything from the prevalence of wage relations to the operation of rents within member states), but it's certainly not entirely without merit given the targeted resolution doesn't provide for WA funding for such programs even where they already or feasibly could exist. The targeted resolution's d.ii. mandate poses serious problems to both the lives of policing bodies and civilians within the area of a violent altercation involving LEOs. I don't think this repeal is misinterpreting that.

There will be a replacement.

You can believe that all you want. This was passed in the mass hysteria of police misconduct by an opportunist. As you can see by the repeal numbers, that is no longer the case….

There is no urgency to replace this, and I already have a large backlog of proposals that I actually want to submit. I invite anyone to draft a replacement that, if nothing else, contains fewer repeal hooks.

Hopefully any replacement passed will NOT, as 'LEO Force Restriction' did, describe the problem that it's trying to tackle in a way that strongly implies this is a problem in every nation & that every nation has "historically marginalised groups"...

Yes, I see that now. Consider my statement retracted.

Havl’s permanent World Assembly representative, Wanda Stax, cleared her throat as she approached the mic.

“Per the Nation State of Havl’s longstanding World Assembly policy, I vote against this legislation. OK then.”

She coughed again as she returned to her seat and resumed writing an acrostic about the water cycle for her granddaughter’s elementary school science homework.

A diminutive man speaks up from his podium, the Tusethian flag lapel adorning his chest gleaming brilliantly thanks to the conveniently-placed lamps where he sits.

"Is there any reason to keep these ridiculous restrictions? The World Assembly is a forum for international cooperation, not a central government! This is tyrannical, pure and simple, and a MASSIVE VIOLATION OF NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY-"

The delegates near him stare as he begins yelling. He coughs nervously.

"Ahem... yes, sorry for the outburst. In short, we are voting yes, and we cannot see why our neighbors in The Communist Bloc believe it is a good idea to keep this outrageous legislation."

Good repeal. The resolution shouldn't have been passed.
