For the record, I have changed my vote to for now in opposition to these shenanigans.

It wouldn't be too hard to find out. Looks like three relatively large Delegates changed their votes to Against around the same time yesterday: Tevaris(~125 votes), Andusre (~150 votes), and most notably Albrook (~715 votes!). A few smaller delegations - notably Tinhampton (~40 votes) - did so as well. If there was a substantial change in the voting behavior of individual nations I didn't notice it.

If your region’s Delegate votes opposite of you, does that negate your individual vote? Or is your Yay vote recorded as a Nay?
"Hello, Masaki home. Oh, that sounds like if I were married to the family. How embarrassing. What do you think? Do you think it sounds that way?"

"I have been many things in my life, Mollari. I have been silly. I have been quiet when I should have spoken. I have been foolish. And I have wasted far too much time. But I am still Centauri. And I am not afraid."

"You are elevating futility to a high art. There is nothing you can do to prevent the catharsis of spurious morality."

Your vote is not affected, and will not be automatically changed, because "your region's delegate votes opposite of you."

The resolution GAR#179 proposes an unchangeable resolution, but the world is always under changes.
New resolution shall preview regular review and give voice to sex workers and medics.
Also, chronic diseases may never be cured, but cannot be transmitted if properly treated and accessed.

Therefore, my current vote is for repealing resolution GAR#179.

However, I understand those who prefer to maintain the current resolution until someone proposes an new resolution replacing this one.

I’d like to extend my deepest apologies to everyone. The arguments I have read against this proposal since its submission and especially since its getting to vote are valid, in fact a little too valid for me to have the same confidence in the benevolence of this resolution I had before its submission. I should have pulled this two days ago and I apologize for not doing so, but alas the past is in the past. However, the point remains that I have found my arguments and reasoning quite lacking and do not wish for this resolution to remain a part of my permanent record on this game

To rectify this, I humbly ask all delegates and voters to remain against, or to change their vote in that direction. I sincerely apologize for asking this of all of you and I hope that next time we meet, it is on kinder terms.

Have a splendid day,

Ah oh well, I am still quite new to GA roleplay, I do my best (also this has nothing to do with the proposal so it is an unnecessary post and I would ask that you avoid posting like this in the future).

C Marcius Blythe. The United Commonwealth's position on this matter, having taken into consideration the views of our friends, is that this proposed repeal is unnecessary. The repeal ostensibly opens the way for novel legislation. That novel legislation, as far as we can tell, is entirely unblocked ab initio. Some of the other claims are, at least in my view, seemingly impact-less: we are not told the harms of not knowing what "prostitute" means or the harm of age. That someone is old does not make it inherently inferior. Clearer impacts would have served well.

By decree of His Holiness,

The Holy See would normally abstain from voting, but as the subject matter has always been persecuted within its domain, this gives an opportune moment to promote more dignified means of income.

By means of this message, New Ulsan's president, the Right Honorable the President, wants to transmit his opposition to repeal the General Assembly Resolution # 179, also known as the Clean Prostitute Act.

While the subject of prostitution can certainly be controversial, sexual workers must pass sexually transmitted infections screenings, as a mean to protect not only customers, but also sexual workers themselves. Thus, the Right Honorable the President's decision is to reject the proposition to repeal the General Assembly Resolution # 179, also known as the Clean Prostitute Act.

New Ulsan's president, the Right Honorable the President, also wishes to add that sexually transmitted infections screenings shall be fully covered by the National Healthcare System, in order to make these accessible to sexual workers, while also allowing private corporations and healthcare providers to offer their services.

The Commonwealth of Ichirokuhachi sees this motion for the repeal of #179 as not worthy of our venerable General Assembly's time.
As the aforementioned resolution is quite general and gives autonomy to member nations in interpretation and regulation of sex work, this motion is a blatant disregard for the problem that the resolution itself intended to mitigate and only serves as mindless rabble with no actual idea for an alternative or an amendment.

The Commonwealth of Ichirokuhachi hereby declares itself AGAINST the proposition.

"Repeal "Clean Prostitute Act"" was defeated 8,818 votes to 6,962. (44.12% support)

Note that the repeal would have been discarded and prevented from passing even had it gathered majority support.
