[DRAFT] Ethical Treatment of Test Animals

Postby Antelen » Wed Sep 01, 2021 5:14 am

Acknowledge that animal testing is beneficial to humankind in ways that artificial organs and computer simulations can't do,

Yet noting that ethical treatment of animals in testing is a need for our moral good and the test animals' physical good,

Hereby enacts as follows,

1. No unnecessary pain shall be inflicted to animals.

2. Test animals shall be cared thoroughly and made sure that they will not die after the test.

3. Only scientific animal testing are allowed, and cosmetics animal testing are prohibited.

Since you keep posting proposals about topics that have already been legislated on, I advise you to take a look at the passed resolutions thread to see which problems have already been adressed.

Perhaps start with a repeal rather than new legislation? A repeal will avoid much of the complexity of finding a topic and worrying about duplication, since repeals literally cannot be duplicative. You'll get practice writing a resolution with fewer moving parts, which will help you when you want to move to new legislation.

I know that, but it was harder to start with a repeal. I'll try to look at resolutions that I accidentally duplicated.

Repeals are generally easier unless you pick something specially difficult, like PTEoI. It's just a series of arguments, no affirmative policy making.

So give me a list of resolutions that are easy to repeal.

If such a list existed, perhaps they would already be repealed.

OOC: To partake this part of NationStates needs you to put in A LOT of effort yourself. If you're not willing to do that, then perhaps this part of the game is not for you.

The passed resolutions are easily searched in a forum thread on this forum. Use different keywords (the forum search function thinks that "cat" and "cats" are two entirely unrelated words) to search the thread with, to see if your idea has already been done. Read through the resolutions to find one that you think is faulty. Ask questions in the Q&A thread as necessary.

Is there a resolution in which bans intentional disasters and requires governments to do a lot of effort against them or something like that?
