Oil [split from Passed General Assembly Resolutions]

Postby Geo Disinterest » Sat Jul 10, 2021 4:58 pm

I have interest in dabbling in your forum, however, I am quite confused as to how governing bodies may make policy that are domestic considerations geopolitically. At any rate, I'd like to poke around, please grant me access, I promise I will strive to be formative and contribute in a serious manner.

Oh... looks like I'm already in the forum, excuse me, I shall root around and provide input as a fledgling nation new to the game, please be patient with myself.

Oil

Postby Geo Disinterest » Sat Jul 10, 2021 5:11 pm

I would like to submit a resolution for consideration by the assembly yet I am quite ignorant as to how to do this competently, and in my ignorance I am simply going to pitch the submission as follows.

The extent to which there is no true proxy to oil is quite insurmountable although I have some bright ideas myself as I am a scientist and represent the flourishing of my people with my competence therein; so it is that anyone that does not recognize oil's pervasive support in our dependence for all of our standard of living and security and flourishing is abjectly naive and in dire need of education. While oil is a finite resource, as it does not replenish at a rate comparable to the rate with which we are exhausting this resource in the guts of our planet is an alarming crisis necessitating addressment, and a refusal to acknowledge that this is a matter of world peace and every denizen of world's well-being is blatant negligence.

So it is that I submit the resolution that we create large reserves of oil for- yes, the very next generation by creating vast cylinders that compress biomass severely, biomass such as hemp oil until the chemical assumes the properties of crude oil. This endeavor is not only responsible but only sane considering the governance of our peoples.

So it is that a governing body is judged by the governance of its citizens. It should be that governing bodies recognize that the flourishing and well being of all denizens of planet Earth are an interconnected consideration affecting their own citizens, and the abuse of a governing body to the detriment of its people is a concern of the geo community at large. While each nation is sovereign it should be acknowledged that the abuse of a nations citizens renders the governing body defunct and exposes them to aggressive policy which while said policy shall not escalate to war for the very same reason that a governing bodies concern is the well being of all the denizens of the planet; aggressive policy truncating the negligent bodies geopolitical clout should be applied with extreme prejudice short of sanctions rendering the well being of their citizens compromised.

Further, it is recognized that the predatory action of a nation seeking its interest at the cost of another preyed nation is exactly unacceptable, and it should be the commitment of the geopolitical community that if any nation be invaded then the worlds community shall serve an ultimatum and if unheeded shall- as the only people which may be held responsible in a time of war is the governing body dictating will appropriately and Justly be exposed to assassination to quell the leadership and in all hopes pacify the belligerent force, yet if the force has extreme prejudice and persists with the head of the body rolling the geopolitical community shall rise up united in defense of the invaded nation's sovereignty and that the loss of assets for the aggressor is a loss holistically owned by those that pursue aggression themselves and the geopolitical community claims exempt status.

OOC: Do you actually have a draft or is this just a random pro-oil rant?

Look at the proposal rules and read the thread you accidentally posted in to see examples of proposal writing. Also be aware that there already are resolutions concerning fossil fuels and their extraction and transport.

Apologies for absences, non-COVID health issues leave me with very little energy at times.
