[DRAFT #1] Request to Restart the World Assembly

Postby Meretica » Thu Jun 24, 2021 8:23 pm

IC: Sen. Perseus Black stands to adress the entire World Assembly and reads the following draft of a proposal that the nation of Meretica would like to be passed:

Image
Request to Restart the World Assembly
A resolution to leave blank the pages of international law
Category: Political Stability
Strength: Sweeping
Proposed by: Meretica

Recognizing the many accomplishments of the World Assembly;

Believing that the World Assembly ought to be restarted so as to allow flow for greater creativity and increased participation in inter-universal affairs;

Noting that the World Assembly has been the functional international government for more than a decade;

Applauding efforts by users to work towards creating a more perfect version of international law;

Troubled by the lack of new, fresh issues for member nations to debate;

Hereby:

    1. Motions that the World Assembly's many resolutions be archived;
    2. Asks that the pages of international law be declared empty;
    3. Moves for the creation of a new set of international laws.

Black returns to his seat and awaits any and all replies.
Edit:
OOC: The WA is old and full of hundreds of resolutions. Many nations decline to vote/participate in the WA given that most everything has been legislated and approved upon by the majority. The few "major" issues that are still debated by member nations have had legislation passed in recent months just because they are controversial to begin with. Furthermore, many recent pieces of legislation have covered minute details and have been largely boring and uninteresting.

Upon further and deeper reading, I have found no rules stating this.

You clearly didn't go very deep. It violates the Game Mechanics rule (a resolution cannot cause all other resolutions to be archived) and the Category rule (attempting to repeal in a Political Stability proposal). This is not the place to propose a GA reset. Go back to the Technical thread.

You'd have to repeal GA#1 for this which is physically impossible.

I was not aware that this broke the game mechanics rule, as that is not listed under the "Mechanics" portion of the Game Rules. I will request this thread be locked.

Yes, If I was a member of the WA would vote for this

Postby Texkentuck » Mon Jun 28, 2021 1:35 am

The nation of Texkentuck was in the world assembly and Texkentuck decided to leave the world assembly because too many laws. Too many good laws on top of bad laws. Want my work place to be able to drink on the job. Not sure if that would be allowed if we were members because of laws about workers safety.......

Still enjoy reading the wild proposals and cackling over this assembly and all it's laws and regulations. Texkentuck is a crazy nation. Our factory workers and produce more than the sober factory workers wrapped up in these laws. :rofl: On behalf of the royally elected Monarchy of Texkentuck accept these bottles of booze. Texkentuck Northern Delivery service is let in by the ambassador on the floor today and the whole assembly is filling up with crates of beer with letters from worker unions in Texkentuck talking about the beer in the break room they drink and how they are number 1 !! The ambassador takes a swig of beer and says Guuuuud-"good".... Then laughs maniacally and states shouting. Heeeere to our great leeeeeader Bram W. Schirkophf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMM "Freedom"!!! he proceeds to splash beer all around him..... Then walks out and leaves back on his private jet at the airport for Texkentuck.

OOC: This is a technical issue, not something to be brought up in the Assembly itself.
