Recognizing that the WA has previously passed legislation to protect the environment and in doing so has improved the environments and health of many nations' ecosystems and states that this resolution will affect both businesses and public health services.
Concerning the fact that high amounts of pharmaceuticals in national waterways can affect the health of citizens living near or using national waterways and lead to serious health problems, especially with high-risk citizens,
The General Assembly Hereby:
- Prevents the disposal of pharmaceutical and medical drugs from being disposed into national waterways, such as
- The dumping of pharmaceuticals anywhere with a body of water that directly connects to a watershed
- The dumping of pharmaceuticals into areas which are connected to waterways
- Restricts businesses and public healthcare services to prevent non-point-source contamination from disposing pharmaceuticals into
- National waterways and reservoirs
- Environmentally sensitive areas such as wetlands and rainforests
- Allows businesses and public healthcare services to dispose of pharmaceuticals to
- Non-point source contamination risk areas which don't have a direct effect on national waterways
- Any area without high levels of wildlife
