Yes! But lets create a new organization and forum. The NSO is sooo 2006.

I'm very new but I've talked to multiple people who left the WA because of proposals constantly passing that affect them too much in a negative way. For myself I'm having trouble staying in the WA myself simply because it seems full of do gooders who want to force their ways on everyone else completely ignoring that not everyone wants their countries to be identical to those that seem to be leading the pack IE civil rights crap etc. It makes me wonder if it was always like this, or if there was ever 2 more equal sides that both had voices that could be heard. It makes me wonder what would happen if all those nations that left the WA because they didn't like the way things were happening rejoined in full force. Right now it seems like the voices of those who want to run their countries for the greater good of the future rather than "do gooders" of the present are being completely snuffed out in the WA. The main problem is there's no where else for these people to go to participate in the game in a broader aspect, which is the main reason I am still (for now at least) a WA member.

I don't think it's wrong for me to want to enforce the morals of my own people rather than others. I don't think it's wrong for me to push strong agendas that force my people into a better more scientific future with brighter minds and higher IQ levels. I don't think it's wrong for me to not allow people with low IQ to breed, or to not pay to have them coddled. If they can't survive in the world, then they shouldn't. How is that wrong to want a better long term future for my people? The WA is constantly pushing proposals from do gooders that contradict my ways and lead to a worse future for my people. Agendas from people who are run by emotions rather than rational necessity, if they had all their agendas pushed through (which seems to be happening), it would lead to the downfall of society, that may be fine for those who don't care about their future generations, but I want no part of it, at the same time I do want to take part in a larger part of the galaxy, again this is why I am still in the WA voting in the minority vote in almost every issue.

The Federation of Beersteins: The Armed Republic of Draconian Races has been ejected and banned from The Holy Empire. For attempted blackmail, and by popular request.

Thats the problem now, me laddie. The Festering Snakepit is over-reaching and encroaching in areas it has no business to be in. Its time to get the Snakepit out of our affairs. most of the drek passed now(especially the last few resolutions not counting the repeals) could be more efficiently done by individual nationional governments. Anytime the Snakepit and its bureaucracy gets involved you get a clusterf**k.

From replies in this thread, it looks like you'd get a few takers. But if you're starting one, please make a new thread.

Okay. Now that you've got something to advertise, from here on in, no advertising.

The thread itself is fine to continue as a general topic on old and new roles of National Sovereignty in the GA, but the link to or any promotion of the offsite, sign-ups or other administrative stuff should go elsewhere (sigs, for example).

Or you could make a post here.

(It's not advertising when mods do it, it's being helpful. *snicker*)

Nah, just a suggestion since someone wanted a name change.

Oh, com'on, Ard -- all the old UN orgs had their own threads on Jolt. :p Those topics always ran out of steam on their own, anyway, so mod intervention was seldom necessary.

But in the interest of complying, I would like to point out that anyone interested in promoting sovereigntism and discussing old and new roles of NatSov in the GA are welcome to register. There is no screening process, and there are no private forums, either. But if you'd rather be an "observer" in the symbolic sense, let one of the admins know and we'll be happy to designate you as such.

It's pre-emptive, before the "but you don't/didn't/won't let me advertise my forum/alliance/organisation" whines start. There's now a thread for advertising.

Think of it as phone sex. You can't touch link to the forum now, but you can talk about its, er, obsession till the cows come home, the chickens come to roost and all those other rural metaphors. Or till you run out of steam or the boiler explodes.

But if it's about a particular proposal, it should usually go in the proposal thread.

Ardchoilleans wrote:"John? Know any good PR firms? Look, what I want is a 'grassroots' local campaign against this HQ the NatSovs are putting up. You know the drill -- challenges under local zoning ordinances, campaigns about parking, noise, nearness to schools or religious establishments, unsuitability for neighbourhood character, disruption of historical monuments, sacred sites, anything along those lines ... see if they can get a nice attractive mother of cute twins to front it ... "

Dicey carried on over the spluttered protests of her Secretary for Situations Like This. The trouble with John McGonnagle was, he just hadn't moved on. Still stuck back in those honourable days of Squeaky-Clean Ardchoille. Dicey had learned a lot since being sentenced to represent her nation at the world body. A whooole lot. Astroturfing a community organisation was just one of the better tricks.

The best, undoubtedly, was the Admit Everything technique. She almost looked forward to being challenged on the sleaziness of this one. An accusation; a raised eyebrow; a disdainful "And?"; that was all it took. Imply that your behaviour was in every way acceptable and, magically, it was.

Now, if only her Bastly head of Security had been doing his job, he'd have found out where they planned to site it ...

Ardchoilleans may not have located the saloon right away, but thankfully, they had remembered the location of their "nemesis's" offices, seeing as they were conveniently located just down the hall from those of the gnomes (so as to better facilitate targets for Susa when he wants to get in some downtime target practice).

Within hours, the lobby was flooded with federalist supporters -- or at least ostensible federalists, as some of the placards they were waving raised questions as to their sincerity or devotion to the cause, such as "ABORTION? MALE CIRCUMCISION? LABELING STANDARDS? WHO CARES! PASS THE BONG, FREDDO!" and "I WANNA HAVE ACE AND RICO'S BABIES!" But the demonstrators as a whole had still gotten most common federalist behaviors down pat, such as shrill and pointless debate, wankery in abundant portions, an unhealthy obsession with AO, generally slobbish and untidy personal appearance, and just the right amount of body odor to suggest habitual hygienic carelessness. As they loitered in the Kennyite officials' personal space, they occasionally broke into chants, such as "THIS IS WHAT INTERNATIONALISM LOOKS LIKE!" and "HEY HEY! HO HO! SOVEREIGNTISM'S GOT TO GO!" Their demands to meet with Kennyite leaders had gone unheeded all afternoon, for the receptionist had successfully shut them out with earbuds, a monitor large enough to cower behind, and hours of computer porn.

But the Kennyite leaders were certainly aware of their presence, as the wanted diplomats assembled behind a window in an empty office to view the spectacle in the lobby.

"Astroturfers strike again," said Riley dryly.

"So who do you think is behind this?" Sammy asked him. "Senator Thorne? He's got plenty of rent-a-rioters at his disposal."

"Nah, these people are way too well-dressed," replied Riley dismissively.

"What are you talking about? It all looks like a mass of filthy, unwashed hippies to me." Sammy turned to Susa, situated in the back of the office forging a makeshift bomb. "Dude, what do these guys look like to you?" he asked him.

The ambassador impatiently rose from his seat on the floor long enough to catch a glimpse of the people outside. "Like a bunch of fucking douchebags," he snorted derisively, and flopped back down to resume his construction.

His opinion didn't matter at that point, for Sammy had suddenly had a revelation about these people, who had struck him as oddly familiar since they forced their way into the lobby. "Jack, do you remember all those dirty hippies we sent to Ardrigh after you stole Dicey's cat?...Do you think they could have...sent those same hippies right back to us?"

Riley looked genuinely confused. "I don't remember any cat or hippies," he replied.

"No, trust me, it's them," Sammy insisted. "And look to the front of the crowd, the dude dressed in kind of wizardly robes? Is that a...GrandAlf?"
