We have refrained from this debate for quite some time but frankly we are unsure as to what this nonsense is all about, is there a practical reason as to this debate or is it just a vent about national sovereignty being constrained by the World Assembly, if so we feel the adequate response is get over it as this is the way it is.

While Motuka is theoretically a devolved federation of city-states rather than a nation per se, the aims of the organisation seem to coincide with our own in a number of respects, and the Blue Room intends to seek observer status at some later date once details are more clear.

OOC: Heh. I don't think OMD was a Nazi since talking to him, but nonetheless it was certainly a tangent from the discussion on hand.

Dicey carried on over the spluttered protests of her Secretary for Situations Like This. The trouble with John McGonnagle was, he just hadn't moved on. Still stuck back in those honourable days of Squeaky-Clean Ardchoille. Dicey had learned a lot since being sentenced to represent her nation at the world body. A whooole lot. Astroturfing a community organisation was just one of the better tricks.

The best, undoubtedly, was the Admit Everything technique. She almost looked forward to being challenged on the sleaziness of this one. An accusation; a raised eyebrow; a disdainful "And?"; that was all it took. Imply that your behaviour was in every way acceptable and, magically, it was.

Now, if only her Bastly head of Security had been doing his job, he'd have found out where they planned to site it ...

After much deliberation on the matter, as well as formidable encouragement on behalf of the Mouseian and Knootian Ambassador, I have decided to offer my support for the re-formation of the National Sovereignty Organization.

As Ambassador to the World Assembly from Cool Egg Sandwich, I must represent our national interests as my most 'sacred' priority. Our beliefs rest on national sovereignty as a central tenet of our nation-state and its governmental/territorial affairs. We believe that membership in the World Assembly should not inherently mean that a nation-state relinquishes its right to self-governance and domestic authority.

We believe that the goals of the World Assembly [making the world a better place], and the ideals of a National Sovereignty Organization can prosper together, united in one purpose of achieving a free society with power vested in the nations of the world.

With that we formally announce our support and request for membership in the newly-forming National Sovereignty Organization.
