[DROOPED] Protection Of Artifacts Found In War zones

Postby Indiana Controlled Florida » Wed Mar 03, 2021 5:13 am

The General Assembly,

Artifacts that are found in war zones are like jewels. They help us learn form the past, and from our mistakes. It can also give the advantage some nations need to win a war against enemies.

Protection of these are necessary to stop enemy nations and terrorists from getting these Artifacts

Definition Of Artifacts

I. an object made by a human being, typically an item of cultural or historical interest.

II. something observed in a scientific investigation or experiment that is not naturally present but occurs as a result of the preparative or investigative procedure.

This Law Will Do:

I. Mandatory Protection Of Artifacts

II. 3 strike teams must be assigned to protect the artifacts

III. If an artifact is found that can help an ally of an nation, that nation must give the artifact to his or her ally

IV. If an nation that is not an enemy of an nation steals an artifact from that nation, the nation that was stole from has the right to declare war on the thief nation

V. If a group of individuals steals a artifact from a nation, that nation has a right to call the group terrorists

These Protections Are Only Assigned To Artifacts Found In War zones

This is my first draft. Tell me the mistakes I made and have a civil discussion.

Yes; why did you plagiarise the definition from Oxford?
Also, why is this proposal needed as international law in the first place? And are you seriously proposing assigning three people to guard every single 'artifact' in existence? I'm not sure we have enough humans for that, and even if we did it would be a mind-boggling waste of manpower. And the proposal does not limit itself to artifacts in war zones either.

Edit: original text for posterity:

I will limit it then. I said 3 strike teams, not 3 people.

Welcome to the World Assembly!

Indiana Controlled Florida wrote:Artifacts that are found in war zones are like jewels. They help us learn form the past, and from our mistakes. It can also give the advantage some nations need to win a war against enemies.

What artifacts give a country a military advantage? Can I use a statue of a long-forgotten deity to smite my enemies?

Indiana Controlled Florida wrote:II. something observed in a scientific investigation or experiment that is not naturally present but occurs as a result of the preparative or investigative procedure.

I'm not exactly sure what this means. Are results of scientific experiments artifacts?

Indiana Controlled Florida wrote:I. Mandatory Protection Of Artifacts

How? By whom?

Indiana Controlled Florida wrote:II. 3 strike teams must be assigned to protect the artifacts

What are strike teams? And are 3 of them assigned to every artifact, or all of them in general?

Indiana Controlled Florida wrote:III. If an artifact is found that can help an ally of an nation, that nation must give the artifact to his or her ally

I can put an artifact in one of my museums to give my country money, which is definitely helpful. Does that give me the right to demand artifacts from my allies? Also, what constitutes an ally?

Indiana Controlled Florida wrote:IV. If an nation that is not an enemy of an nation steals an artifact from that nation, the nation that was stole from has the right to declare war on the thief nation

This is confusing to read.

That definition is still plagiarized...

It's actually in the GA Proposals Compendium which covers the rules, which I'd suggest would be a good idea for you read in its entirety:

Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the theft of another person's work. If a player wishes to submit another's proposal, explicit permission must be obtained and submitted either through the Getting Help page or Moderation so we have a paper trail. If not, the offender is ejected and the proposal is deleted.

viewtopic.php?p=8133407#p8133407

Even though that only specifies plagiarising the proposals of others, previous instances have shown that it covers plagiarising off-site material as well. For example people have on previous occasions copied the text from actual real-life laws and tried to pass it off as their own work, which the Mods subsequently acted on.
