[DRAFT]: International Bill of Rights

International Bill of Rights
Preamble:
We the representatives of the World Assembly, bound in our ideals granted to us by our ancestors, noting that certain freedoms are sacred and undeniable, hereby establish this Bill of Rights.

Article I: The right of the people to assemble freely and peaceably shall not be infringed.
Article II: The right of the people to petition the General Assembly and/or the Security Council of the World Assembly shall not be infringed.
Article III: The right of the people to freely pursue their religious and spiritual beliefs shall not be infringed.
Article IV: The right of the people to seek an enriching and inclusive education shall not be infringed.
Article V: The right of a swift and public trial by jury, the right against self incrimination, the right against double jeopardy, the right to a defense attorney, the right against illegal search and seizure, the right against excessive bail and bondage, and the right against unusual punishment shall not be infringed.
Article VI: The right of the people to seek equality based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and ethnicity will be upheld.
Article VII: Rights not explicitly listed within this Bill of Rights will still be upheld, and such rights should of right and ought to be reserved for the people.
Article VIII: Rights not explicitly granted to the World Assembly are reserved for the national governments of member states of the World Assembly.

The General Assembly of the World Assembly does recognize this Bill of Rights, and guarantees the rights it invokes will be enforced.

OOC: Some of these suspiciously similar to the amendments of the U.S. Constitution, which would make it illegal for plagiarism. Be careful with that; GenSec takes plagiarism pretty seriously.

Every single bit of this duplicates existing legislation. Except article 2, that one is outright illegal.

I like the idea, but given all the plagiarism, and the fact that many of these duplicate existing legislation, I would not support this resolution. Rewrite it, make it more specific/original, and resubmit it. If you manage to iron out the kinks, I think this could be a very good proposal.
