If nobody has other comments (I’m sure there are some of you out there), I’ll be submitting this in two days.

OOC: Comments to come, but being in pain/on strong pain meds doesn't make me very articulate except in swearing. Also, don't be hasty for no reason. As you may be aware, RL is a mess for most people on the planet, currently, and may be needing more attention than usual.

Patience. :)

Please do not submit this yet. Plagiarism is against GA rules - have a look at the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (at least), check which bits in your resolution look like that, and completely reword them. I'll start you off by saying that Article 1a of your resolution bears suspicious similarities with Article 4b of the CRPD.

I see, I'll read the whole thing you linked. Thanks for pointing it out.

Sure, I've removed the last call tag now and I'll wait for more comments. I'm also currently reworking some clauses to avoid plagiarizing what Tin linked above.

I've reworked some of the clauses, but knowing the clumsy person I am, I likely left some parts bare. I'm not sure if I'd be able to submit any time this month, but please leave feedback and I'll get to them as soon as I can :)

“With regards to the last bullet point on clause 1, it is usually the university’s decision as to whether to award financial assistance to economically-marginalised students, irrespective of disability, at least in Kenmoria. On another note, I suggest lettering your bullet points, so that they are easier to refer to.”

Any posts that I make as GenSec will be clearly marked as such and OOC. Conversely, my IC ambassador in the General Assembly is Ambassador Fortier. Kenmoria is an illiberal yet democratic nation pursuing the goals of communism in a semi-effective fashion. It has a very broad diplomatic presence despite being economically developing, mainly to seek help in recovering from the effect of a recent civil war. Read the factbook here for more information; perhaps, I will eventually finish it.

“I do understand where you’re coming from. The last bullet point in clause 1 will be changed to something along the lines of ‘encourage universities to provide appropriate financial assistance to all economically-marginalized students with disabilities who genuinely seek to pursue tertiary education;’, unless you have something better. That said, the bullet points have now been lettered.”

Unlike the other two quotes above, not a suggestion for rewording: all education systems must already comply with WA law (at least presumptively, LOL) and I have no idea how exactly you are supposed to "adjust" such a system "for future legislation" as you've currently written it, given that amendments are illegal.

OOC: September has been pretty busy for me, and I didn't feel like coming to this thread. I'm still pretty occupied now, but here's a bump as requested and a notification that I've acknowledged these comments and will be working on them. I have not given up on this yet ;)

Why I thought it'd be better that way, I don't know. This is my replacement:

OOC: Clause 1.a. makes this illegal for game mechanics. GA resolutions can't be amended nor "annulled" without repealing.

EDIT: Also, 1.c. makes no sense grammatically.

I see the double whammy of back and leg pain made me forget about commenting on this one. Will try to get back to it later today/tomorrow.

As I understand though, 1a doesn't refer to previous WA resolutions but rather to previously existing legislation of member states that would contradict this resolution. Maybe make that more clear?

I mean, it’s requiring member nations to, not the WA, and member nations can’t do either, but yes clarification would be good

Amend or annul national laws, norms, and procedures, which permit the populace to empower discrimination on the grounds of disability;
EDIT: Also, 1.c. makes no sense grammatically.
Provide Ensure, in law and in practice, that no qualified applicant for any job is to be subjected to different terms and conditions, privileges, incentives, or allowances in their employment occupation due to their disability status being disabled;

Are these changes any better? I’ll be looking into the second one again though. I personally thought it was read-able, so I mainly just made it simpler.

Amend or annul national laws, norms, and procedures, which permit the populace to empower discrimination on the grounds of disability;

Perhaps this could be better worded as
“Amend or annul National laws, and criminalizing norms, and procedures, which permit the populace to empower discrimination on the grounds of disability;”
2. Encourages member states to:
A. Promote universal social awareness and acceptance of people with disabilities across the population; and
B. Utilize and conduct research to allow products and facilities be used by anyone without the need for significant reworks and modifications;

Maybe add another clause here
“Protect the honor and pride of the people with disabilities residing in that nation”
That’s all I can think of right now
