Madison and Wisconsin,

Restrictions on an economy just bring up this issue again and again. I believe that giving workers more rights is something that every modern nation, left or right, conservative or liberal, needs.
The Proportional Republic of Carenzia
Carenzia rose from the ashes of a once-communist republic to a stable country. With a large economy, and developing civil and political freedoms, Carenzian leaders hope to be an influence within the region and world of NationStates.

“This Resolution has our full support. We understand that its approval, added to the rights granted through other resolutions of the General Assembly (Labor Relations Act, among others) will contribute even more to expanding the rights and protection of the working class.

Our Nation does not believe in the class struggle or in the opposition of employers versus workers. Our Nation believes in the alliance between the two, in the formation of a national bourgeoisie, in a balance in which each of these sectors is capable of giving up some of its aspirations for the welfare and national peace. We believe that this Resolution contributes to the realization of that ideal”.

Heliodoro Fernández.
Ambassador of The Community of the Option for the Poor before the General Assembly and the Security Council.

Yes, even my nation that was already at 45(which is actually quite high, because 50 means the rich earn just 50% more than the poor, shot up to 67!
Some nations have decreasals for the income of the rich of more than SIXTY percent.

"Ambassadors, what did you expect to happen upon the passage of a "Labour Rights" proposal titled "Protecting Legal Rights of Workers"? Wealth gaps suddenly increasing?"

OOC: Unless I'm mistaken (and this handy list is horrifically outdated), this is the first Regulation | Labour Rights proposal ever passed by the GA. Yay me. Honestly, I don't know how I feel about proposals having such profound stat effects. On the one hand, I just wiped out a lot of people's economic stats that they spent some time building up. On the other hand, shouldn't resolutions have a notable gameside effect on member nations? I will say that the effect was a bit stronger than I expected from a proposal ostensibly of "significant"-level strength. Regardless, I think it's a worthwhile goal to have at least one proposal of every subcategory, simply because we don't know the effects of many of them, such as Regulation | Energy.

Uhhh can we not? Filling the WA with shite just for curiousity isn't something I'm keen on. If there's an actual pressing need for energy regulation, let there be one.

OOC: No it absolutely is not. Thank fuck they removed the Gun Control category!

Anyway, there have been WA-induced recessions before, usually after Social Justice/Strong. I don't understand why people can't RP reactions.

OOC: I don't mean writing to the category... ugh. I mean it would be a nice thing to have at some point down the line.

OOC: Fairly big effect even when the stat was already relatively high: https://www.nationstates.net/nation=pot ... ensusid=33

And it got me the Under And Over banner, too. :D
