That probably counts as spam, actually. If you support a proposal, you can add some reason WHY you support it, to your post.

Statement of 'support' and 'opposed' are regularly accepted in the GA forum. This was raised in a Moderation thread already, where it was shot down quickly by Wrapper (a then-moderator). In fact, Araraukar, you actually were in the thread . . . in support of not implementing such restrictions:

Araraukar wrote:
Wrapper wrote:GA is generally RP, SC is generally GP.

And most GA regulars, like me, completely ignore the existence of SC, since it is basically Gameplay...

I don't think the support/no support posts should count as spam - like others have said, they're often the first post of someone new who dared to poke their heads in the door. :)

"You can only approve proposals if you are a WA Delegate" by clicking the APPROVE PROPOSAL button on the proposal's on-site page - as I've said!

I forgot that I'm a WA Member, not a Delegate like the list of names I see on my region's front-page. Thank you, no wonder there wasn't anything to do with WA proposals other than writing one and voting in SC. I didn't get the grasp of gameplay other than Challenges (which is fun, stats comparison is fun.)

Although I get the benefits of being a WA Member, if there was a comparison page, perhaps a NationStates Wiki article, the gameplay aspects of NS would be understood better other than RP.

Sorry, but yes, the latter is what I'm trying to say: posting "Support" in addition to the reason for supporting the proposal. e.g. "I support because forced dancing is inhumane and must be outlawed in every region." just like that.

Check out this lovely short dispatch [ https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=444406 ]. "World Assembly" is there (under "Gameplay") :)

Sure. I'm not advising people that they need to do remove their bolding and caps on pain of getting warned by moderators.

Sure, Ara, telling people "That probably counts as spam, actually" has no interaction with the moderators. Even if my sarcasm there is remains untaken, I'm such advice has a negative effect on general participation in the Assembly, for all the reasons that you agreed with in the thread linked above.

We're so totally going to get warned by mods for this argument, I'm sure, but "spam" stands for "short, pointless, annoying message", which just posting "support" or "no support" definitely fits in my opinion. Also, note the word "probably". That means I wasn't entirely certain. Hence I didn't make a flat-out statement of "that is spam, it's against forum rules, you can get warned for breaking forum rules" or anything like that.

Can we now please go snipping at each other in the drafting threads and not this one?

Do WA member nations have legal duty to arrest people for genocide, slavery or war crimes?

You can search this thread with those keywords to find out: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=30

Remember, however, that the forum search function thinks that "cat" and "cats" are two completely unrelated words.

Those are restricted by various WA resolutions, so yes.

If a resolution passes in the GA, how can a nation enact the changes it brings with it?

Nations stat-wise (statistics-wise), World Assembly (WA) resolutions will only affect your nation while you are a WA member.

RP wise (nation roleplaying), you are supposed to be in compliance, but I have seen many nations creatively roleplayed non-compliance vis-à-vis ambiguity or inadequacy, i.e. loopholes.

I may be wrong, though (my apologies if I said something wrong, someone please tell me off) :)

Your laws (game statistics) are automatically changed on passage of any GA resolution. If you see references to "gnomes" this is what they're talking about.

Years ago someone asked "look, I didn't change the law here, we voted against this tripe and my legislature is notorious for inefficiency, so how did this change so quickly???" Someone tongue-in-cheek answered that gnomes must have snuck in and registered the WA-mandated changes, and we've stuck with that ever since.

Yes. Unless you mean as per GA legislation, in which case you should search the Passed Resolutions thread with "nuclear" and see for yourself.

No. You can make it a national law if you want, but there's no reason to use the GA to make it an international one.

If you're thinking of things to write a proposal about, try to think of things that are international or "universal" in Real Life. And then check the passed resolutions thread to make sure they haven't already been addressed.

I have this idea of proposing pro-environment policies, but not sure how to search for the existing resolutions. There's a forum thread for those passed resolutions, sure, but at least a search bar in World Assembly page itself would be nice not in a forum that is manually updated by users.

A search bar on the actual resolutions page would be nice, yeah, but the forum/user-contributed measures work for me :)
I'm not sure if this is what you're asking or what you already know, but there's a list of resolution titles by category here, which links to the main Passed Resolutions list. And specifically Environmental is a sorted category there.
