conscience is accepting responsibility for the reaping of what you sow. not sure what freedom of it would mean.
freedom to be guided by it, well the point is being guided by it, accepting if there are consiqences to doing so.
living martyrdom is what its called when other people harrass you for doing so.
of course, when people use the pretense of consience to excuse an unconsionable act, if anything, that is robbing the freedom of others.
and i suspect rather often this is often the case. freedom to not take an action that would violate your conscience, the first cause no harm principal, yes.
not making an excuse to that an action that might infringe on the rights and freedoms of someone else.
