Closing the gap between the working class and not

Postby Texkentuck » Sun Jan 31, 2021 3:04 pm

It's time for new proposals that are reasonable such as- we need a new proposal that is economic. My nation has a huge wealth gap between rich and poor. I think that the WA should take $5,000 in currency from each citizen that makes over $100,000 in currency, and the WA distributes that tax. For being in the WA nations should pay a tax. The tax should be taken from citizens in our nations who make over $100,00. This should be able to close the gap by a little bit. Those who make over $100,000 in my nation already have laws passed to help them who are wealthy. I will not vote for a proposal that takes more than $10,000 from nations citizens who make over $100,000. More than that would be too much in my opinion. Nations in this WA should pay a tax to close the wealth gap. My nation is super prosperous and this would benefit my nation economically because this will make the working class more rich in my nation. Now this is a proposal. My nation very much has capitalism but by being on this WA they should push a tax to help the working class in our nations. In the end this will make it in which companies won't have as much of a complaint when workers want to get paid more. That is an unnoted benefit for the rich. Also with in such a proposal be sure to state nations will not be be able to hike up goods and services over the stimulus. Must be added into the proposal under economy.

Maybe first do an empirical study as to heterogeneity in the marginal propensity of consumption across different income and wealth bands, a survey as to how many people are in each income and wealth band, and implement policy based on resultant findings... rather than setting up unworkable policies with the assumption that it just works this way.

Idea: Food Standards.
IE food inspections of restaurants, more regular inspections of government food facilities and prison food facilities.
However, I'm pretty sure someone would have made this before.

You would be more or less right. There's a food safety (as in, safe to eat) resolution already, and just slapping extra inspections on top of that wouldn't really do enough as a separate resolution and should likely be left to the nations to sort out in detail, rather than writing one unwieldy ring law to rule them all.

Restriction on repeating WA issue voting

Postby Croatian empaths » Mon Feb 15, 2021 1:13 pm

Dear WA members,

here is proposal we put restriction on WA voting system for the same resolution. Thereby my proposal is to put 3 month length cycle on every passed resolution before it is possible to put same issue into voting again.

If I understand you correctly, you want to limit WA proposals on a particular topic from being submitted if there was just a proposal on that same topic at vote?

Unfortunately, this constitutes Metagaming. The WA cannot limit the content of its members' discussions or proposals. Even if you broadened it to say that no proposal in a WA category can be submitted within X time of a previous proposal in that same category, that's still beyond the scope of the WA's powers (and probably would require coding anyway - a Game Mechanics violation as well).

Stick around a while and observe debates - that'll give you a sense of what can and cannot be passed. Then, when you have an idea that's not currently the subject of a WA resolution, write a full draft.

Good luck!

I think the leader of Texkentuck pointed out a fact. In order to solve different situations of each country. WA should set up affiliated organizations, whose are funded by richer nations. Mark these nations in the proposal or dispatch.

When other proposals need economy support. The founder can tag them easily.

My WA idea

Postby The Greenlandic North » Thu Mar 11, 2021 3:10 pm

I want to make a restriction on Biowarfare, but I don't know what category it would go under. I thought health.

Limitation of Biowarfare.

With the power of Biowarfare, being able to release a disease to a targeted country, and others impose a major global health risk. To prevent a pandemic from unleased onto the public, all nations would be required to follow guidelines.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Resolution defines Bioweapon as disease, not chemical gas.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
i: Only allowing a nation to contain one bioweapon for wartime purposes.
ii: Having a vaccine for released bioweapons once war is over, lowering disease risk after conflict to all nations.
iii: Have disease not be more lethal than 20%.
iv: Having disease be easily treated if civilians in targeted country are infected.

This is all I could think of, for now, more will be added.
thank you for reading.

Was just gonna ask, what do you all think about repealing GAR#255 Rights of Neutral States? I find that some of its wording is problematic, and the rights given for belligerent states to move across neutral territory seems a bit too generous. As an example, the proposal mentions that "Escaping POWs" are given a right to move through neutral territory, which I feel has the potential to be a national security risk on part of the neutral nation, as those actors could potentially use this right of movement to cause conflict in neutral or other nations, in addition to the possibility that neutral nations give asylum to belligerent POW escapees (or perhaps worse, simply give the POWs back to where they escaped from). Additionally the legislation puts forth that military alliances with non-member states must include these terms as well, which I think is highly unusual for the World Assembly to do. The World Assembly should only be allowed to affect its member nations, it should not be able to directly or indirectly affect non-member states, even if they are only tangentially involved with the member state. What do you all think?
