BELIEVING we should celebrate one of our greatest achievements;

FURTHER NOTING that the bill creating The World Assembly was passed April 6, 2008;


HEREBY ESTABLISHES April 6 as World Assembly Day

OOC: The WA was originally called the UN, but then Max Barry got a Cease & Desist notice from the actual UN, which can be read here: https://maxbarry.com/2008/04/02/news.html

Since then, the UN has been referred to vaguely, as sort of a tongue-in-cheek thing. You may sometimes see it referred to as the UNmentionable organization.

Fun fact: April 1st is the actual anniversary; April 6 was when the (purely symbolic) resolution was finalized.


And I think by now it's high time we simply abolish all resolutions with the word "day" in the title; they are always unmitigated disasters.

OOC: You have a conundrum here: right now this is illegal because it doesn't place any mandate on member nations (no operative clause). For that matter, what's your intended category and strength/AoE?

Its a pointless proposal, no offense to the author, but having pointless proposals on the floor (see some of the former United Nations Proposals) leads to a pointless Assembly.

We need more items which will effect the world. Not be an aesthetic effect."

OOC: I agree completely. However, wouldn't it be nice for your ambassador to have a vacation?

OOC: Also, my ambassadors have 8 weeks of fully paid and mandatory vacation a year, out of which at least 3 weeks must be one after another, plus 2 out of 7 days off every week, though in the WA they can work for 6 out of 7 and save the extra free day to be added to their vacation times. Johan especially is currently tanned because he spent his yearly vacation on a paradise island recently.
