It will not speed up the process.

Resolutions are coded to have an effect on your game stats, amendments would be a messy process to implements. Again this is all stated in the stickies, GO READ THEM!
Ambassador Ariela Galadriel Maria Mirase
37 year old Arch-bishop of the Arasi Christian Church (also the youngest ever arch-bishop and fifth woman in the church hierarchy). An attractive but stern woman with a strict adherence to religious and moral ethical codes, also somewhat of an optimist. She was recently appointed to the position following the election of Adrian Midnight to the position of Patriarch.

Also ... “committees” for drafting are pointless. That is what this forum is for.
A. Post a draft
B. Everybody interested in that draft comments, helps, critiques
C. The draft is refined
D. Repeat B and C several times

So why is a “committee” needed?

Changing an resolution will not affect game coding?

The committee is needed in order to speed up the process.

Pay

Attention

The category and strength are part of the game coding and effect the nation stats. That is why “no amendments”.

This committee idea is pointless, would add nothing, At All, to the drafting. Except ... no, except nothing, it adds no useful function whatsoever.

Stop before you dig your crater so deep your reputation here is irrecoverable.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

Ay, perhaps this thread could be locked, as it's going nowhere. The proposal is illegal, and I have yet to see the author remove the problematic bits. At this point, this whole discussion is nothing more than a lot of people explaining the same, unchanged problems.

Blacklight is an isolationist, and notably xenophobic, interstellar corporatocracy.
Its government and society are made up of three massive conglomerates.
They maintain joint control over affairs normal governments would otherwise be concerned with.

[Draft] Commitment To Exploring WA Reform

Postby Republicanana » Sun Feb 24, 2019 8:26 am

Since the debate on this will take a long time. I am going to put out a draft for a resolution titled "Commitment to Exploring WA Reform"

WHEREAS, the WA is looking for needed reform to further its goals
WHEREAS, we as a collective group need to look together into these issues that face us
WHEREAS, the debate will be long and very hard to come to an agreement
Hereby, the General Assembly
PASSES this symbolic resolution in order to show that our members will come together to discuss the needed, legal reforms we can make.
AND LOOKS for a resolution between the member nations within the next year

Illegal for doing nothing to justify the stat effects for whatever Category you would use to submit it.
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

By this, they mean the stat effects that apply to WA members when a proposal goes through, not what effect it has on the WA as a whole.

Okay, this has gone on long enough.

Republicanana, you’ve been told several times, READ THE RULES. Not a single thing you’ve proposed is legal under the GA proposal rules. Take some time, read through the rules, especially the ones regarding game mechanics and metagaming, or else your time here will be short and painful for you.

If you want to make suggestions on changes to how the WA works, you can do so in the Technical forum. I will say, however, that the following suggestions are non-starters, so don’t bother:

— Any type of WA President or Secretariat. We had a WA Secretariat election a few years ago as an April Fools joke, and serious consideration was given to giving the position some real power. That idea was soundly rejected by both Moderation and the WA community as a whole.

— Drastic changes to the duties of the GA Secretariat. GenSec is working well; they are unbiased (they’ve made at least a few rulings against their own members, and their rulings are based solely on the rules and not ideological grounds), and, in my eyes, they’re doing a much better job of it than we moderators did. They are the arbiters of the rules, not committee managers.

— Changes to the approval process. We won’t be taking this power out of the hands of the delegates and putting it into some committee of WA members.

— Allowing amendments to resolutions. This has been suggested several times, and it just isn’t technically possible. Repeal/replace is the only avenue to change a resolution.

My advice to you is to take some time — months, not days — to learn how things work here, before you go half-cocked into suggesting any technical changes.
