"While this may be true, this resolution doesn't cover enough areas to be really effective. Household trash, like cigarette butts plastics or just general trash, are among the highest concentration of waste in the ocean. This resolution doesn't cover those, only areas where it would impact industrial nations, such as ours. We want clean oceans like anyone but pollution is a bigger problem then just Industrial dumping. There should be a broader definition of what is considered hazardous. Not just chemicals."

OOC
Cigarette butts contain Nicotine, which is toxic to various life-forms, so they should should be covered by this.

OOC: Truth, I forgot about that. I'll edit accordingly. Still, not sure if this covers plastics or not.

Here’s my opinion on this topic. It would be rather regulatory on industry. If an animal is dumb enough to eat the hazardous waste such as plastic. Then it shouldn’t live because natural selection.

(OOC: Animals did not evolve with pieces of plastic floating in the ocean. The idea that they should instinctively know to avoid it is like expecting babies to automatically avoid going near ovens. Besides, this proposal will be discarded at the end of voting.)

The Later Proposal

We should never choose the environment over the welfare and success of our citizens. The world was put here to protect us, we were not put here to protect the world.

While this may be true, this proposal isn't worded as well as it could have been. For a full effect, it could of covered more materials and waste in its definition of Hazardous Waste. We would like to support it, but it focuses too much on Industries and industrial nations.
