Exactly, it was discarded because it should never have been voted on in the first place and thus should be considered null and void.

Although, if we want to be pedantic about numbers more people rejected the repeal than this “vote in favour”

Pardon for asking, but what criticisms of the repeal(s) do you actually have? So far, all I see is complaints that there have been too many attempts at a repeal, and I doubt that those are actually going to change anyone's opinions (they certainly haven't changed mine).
