Hmm? This was never submitted, though it certainly will be -- at a politically opportune time.

Honestly, I'm surprised there's not more support for this repeal from the anti-death penalty bloc. Parts (b) and (c) of the repeal relate to issues of substantive equality with respect to member states and convicts.

I'm sure they'll pile in once it goes to vote. Some of them might even read it.

(OOC: The last few clauses feel a bit repetitive, three of the final four begin with “arbitrarily”.

Speaking as someone who strongly supports the target resolution, I wouldn’t care if the death penalty was restricted to nations with a ‘t’ in the name, as long as the death penalty is restricted.)

That will be news to the WA.

Support. While my nation does not support capital punishment, "Preventing the Execution of Innocents" appears to be flawed in many significant areas.

*Slams the SUPPORT button so hard it almost breaks from how strongly it was pressed* I've said this before, but I FULLY SUPPORT any attempts to repeal that disgusting bill that was basically "Ban Capital Punishment 2.0 but renamed to trick nations into voting for it and claiming that it was a compromise".

OOC: We were this close to reaching quorum. I'm pretty sure I remember it actually being in the queue. Shall we try again?

Was there a counter campaign? If so, can someone post the TG used for it?

I am unaware of a counter campaign, but it just so happens that I triggered a run by Amestris, and took part in a second one with Lily, that aimed to remove delegates approving two WA proposals, one of which was this one. It's not personal, I just want to harass the WA.

I swore this had reached quorum before, and was listed as a proposal yesterday. Could someone explain what happened?

Okay. What's a run in this context? An argument or debate of sorts?

A series of raids in a single game update, in this case done to bump delegates who had approved certain proposals out of their seats so as to reset the approvals they gave.

Oh. That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. That's really annoying, to harass the WA to a dysfunctional state.

WA regions were raided to derail this proposal, which New Bremerton and other nations had waited patiently for weeks to be drafted and submitted for a vote on the matter? This is unconscionable and those responsible for this underhanded and despicable attempt to subvert democracy at the international and interregional level should be subjected to a condemnation/liberation. It is frankly undemocratic. New Bremerton would never attempt anything of this nature. Such crimes will not go unpunished. We hereby impose hard-hitting economic sanctions on the following nations and regions for their criminal actions, and we urge other nations and regions that have been so wronged to do likewise:

The nation(s) of:

Galiantus III

The region(s):

Amestris
Lily

New Bremerton will never cease in its attempts to repeal Preventing the Execution of Innocents, a deliberately deceptive resolution that would infringe on our right to execute the worst of the worst among us while pretending to permit executions in theory. We urge the author to submit this repeal a second time, a third time, a fourth time and for as many times as it takes for it to finally be put to a vote, and we will only cease if the repeal proposal is ultimately voted down by the members of the WA.

Huh. Well, I'll resubmit, though I'll have to make sure those who already got the TG get a revised version explaining what happened.
