[FIRST DRAFT] Administer Environmental Preservation

Postby Tuummaarraa » Sun Sep 09, 2018 4:13 pm

A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental
Industry Affected: All Businesses - Mild

The World Assembly

RECOGNIZES that natural resources are vital for the economy and for the nation as a whole, for the following reasons:

1. A decline in air, land, and water pollution,

2. An increase in tourism and outdoor recreation,

3. A boost in economic development, due to the amount of international trade opportunities nature presents,

4. An influx of resources the government has yet to utilize,

5. An increase in GDP.

REALIZES that many economies treat the environment carelessly, which is likely the the reason for their downfall.

CONCERNED about the economy, the GDP and the pollution.

Therefore, by the power of the council of the General Assembly, the WA

1. HIGHLY RECOMMENDS all deforested trees and plants immediately be replaced,

2. REQUIRES littering to be outlawed,

3. URGES workers who clean up the harmful mess made by citizens to be rewarded greatly,

"Define intent for your last clause. Must one intend to pollute, or merely intend an action that incidentally results in pollution? What about unanticipated consequences? Previously unknown emissions? Accidents? This isnt much better than your prior drafting."

Separatist Peoples should RESIGN!

1. Sustainable forest management is not as radical as your clause but it is practical.
2. Do you think outlawing littering is too radical? What should be defined as littering? What objects should be included?

OOC: Forests and other places are usually cleared of vegetation because someone intends to use the place for something else, like building houses or roads or such. And also there already exists a resolution that requires forests to be replanted.

Clause 3 gives me very strong Communist China vibes. Aren't the workers citizens themselves?

Apologies for absences, non-COVID health issues leave me with very little energy at times.
