With a good campaign, the delegate vote works in your favor. No need to quit the WA.

But then I'd be exploiting the system to push legislation that might be against the desires of the majority. My issue isn't with passing legislation that I personally support, I'm more concerned with being governed by a system that holds a minority over the majority.

I also don't want to pretend that my resignation was motivated by some feeble attempt at social activism. I'm leaving for selfish reasons, seeing as the WA provides me with no benefits in my current situation. If I were in a vulnerable region, or if I were a delegate with many endorsements, I would probably still be in it, though I'd be doing my best to change the process.

I'm here for the thinly veiled personal attacks, pedantry, rules lawyering, and cheap alcohol. If that's not your cup of tea, that's fine. :)
While she had no regrets about throwing the lever to douse her husband's mistress in molten gold, Blanche did feel a pang of conscience for the innocent bystanders whose proximity had caused them to suffer gilt by association.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm still going to participate in that, but now I don't have to get distracted by caring about legislation or voting. I can focus on what really matters.

OOC: I’m so confused. Isn’t legislation and voting the point of the WA?

Yeah but I'm not in the WA anymore, yet can still see everything and comment on forums. I have about as much impact as I did before, minus the responsibility.

OOC: I’d recommend not commenting on proposals and drafts if you’re not in the WA. Some people get really pissed off by that since it won’t matter to you at all if it passes or not.

Recheve wrote:but are you not incredibly dissatisfied with that process?

OOC: Yes, very. Can't do much but support every attempt to restrict Delegate powers that's posted in Technical, but I doubt much is going to happen.

Kenmoria wrote:Seeing as WA nations elect the regional delegate, it helps keep the WA interesting without too much unfairness.

Still OOC: Except, you know, the large number of delegates that will kick you out of the region if you don't endorse them...

Recheve wrote:Yeah but I'm not in the WA anymore, yet can still see everything and comment on forums. I have about as much impact as I did before, minus the responsibility.

OOC again: You can partake this forum on a non-WA account just fine, including drafting proposals of your own. You only need WA status and two endorsements to submit them. I'm not normally in the WA on this account, yet I use this acc the most to partake threads.

OOC: It’s mostly true! I may be overly cautious.
Though didn’t He Qixin give worse advice?

That is not something you should try to match, though.

Also I always thought you were in the WA. Man I need to pay more attention.

I'm not in the WA and have commented on numerous proposals and proposed legislation. It's not frowned upon at all.
Hello! I’m a GAer and NS Roleplayer from the United Kingdom.
My pronouns are he/him.
Any posts that I make as GenSec will be clearly marked as such and OOC. Conversely, my IC ambassador in the General Assembly is Ambassador Fortier. I’m always happy to discuss ideas about proposals, particularly if grammar or wording are in issue. I am also Executive Deputy Minister for the WA Ministry of TNP.
Kenmoria is an illiberal yet democratic nation pursuing the goals of communism in a semi-effective fashion. It has a very broad diplomatic presence despite being economically developing, mainly to seek help in recovering from the effect of a recent civil war. Read the factbook here for more information; perhaps, I will eventually finish it.

Wow I need to be more observant.
