Also The Current Resolution Doesn't Take into Account That a Rapid Buildup of Nuclear Weapons can Lead to Arms Races that Can Effect a Nations Economy That Can Severely Affect The Standard Of Living in That Nation For Example One of The Main Reasons for the Collapse of The USSR was the Rapid Spending on The Nuclear Arms Race where they made More Nuclear Weapons than they Needed or Maintain which lead to their Downfall.

If this is a real proposal, were it not for the boilerplate, this would not actually repeal 10 GA. Anyway, if you include 'Sincerely, [me]' at the end, it's branding then.

Shouldn't a Country Take Care of its Citizens and their Quality of Living Before Spending most of their GPD on Nukes?

I'm glad to see that you have a want to do it. I truly am, buuutttt he is right. Many people have tried to repeal Resolution #10, many of which I was a delegate having to decide if it even made it to the WA. None of them have ever worked and chances are it won't work. I'm not saying it is impossible, I could see it happening. It just has never happened before and it has never come close before either. Good luck to you, but if you want to get your repeal out there, I suggest you send out a telegram to the WA delegates asking for us to allow the whole website to vote on it. If you want people to hear about it just send out a telegram to the delegates and boom us delegates might end up putting it up onto the WA so everyone CAN vote on it. Without that telegram though, I think this attempt would probably just end up being another failed one. I'm not gonna say if I would support it or not because nobody wants to know and nobody should know.

But What if We Gave control of all of the WA Member States Nuclear Weapons to the Security Council? Also how about we set up a System where if A Non-Member Attacks one WA Member State and Declare war on Them we have System Like NATO where if you declare war on one you are at war with all of them?

Please stop capitalizing random letters. It makes your resolution look like the spongebob memes.

United North American Commonwealths wrote:[proposal=][/proposal]Repeal “Nuclear Arms Possession Act”
A proposal to repeal a previously passed WA resolution #10

Category: Repeal/Rewrite
Resolution: #10
Proposed by: Federation of United North American Commonwealths

Description:
Understanding that WA members are allowed to possess nuclear weapons to defend themselves from hostile nations and Realizing that the WA members need to be able to defend themselves if attacked.

Also Acknowledging that non-member states are not required to abide by WA proposals,

But Also Acknowledging that this Resolution Allows WA States Build Excessive Arsenals of Nuclear Weapons that are more than needed to Defend their own Individual Nations and only Promotes more Militarization that leads to Bigger Deadlier Conflicts that Further Destabilizes The World Assembly's Goal of Peace and Partnership.

So Therefore Urge the World Assembly to Repeal and Replace WA Resolution #10

OOC: I saw your first thread about this and you did not listen you can not write a proposal that both repeals and replaces a passed resolutio it illegal, besides if you payed close attention they said first you repeal which is one proposal in itself, then you replace it with a completely separate proposal. This current one won't pass so take out the part mentioning replacing and use it to repeal then write another to replace.

Teran Saber: "Increasing response times, adding another layer of bureaucracy, and no one would go for it."

OOC: AND that would be a metagaming violation. As far as the General Assembly is concerned, the Security Council doesn't exist.

Yes! Thank you. I also had meaningful contributions though. Naturally, you'll run into blocks over sovereignty etc. As has already been said, many have tried to repeal #10. Perhaps if you specify the stipulations of a replacement resolution of some sort (or specify the rights nations would retain) you would encounter less resistance while still pursuing your goal of arms and military budget limitations.

The category needs to be “Repeal.” Not “Repeal/rewrite.” You cannot repeal and rewrite previously passed legislation in one issue. You can only repeal.

Wallenburg has a nuclear stockpile of one, which is soon to be expended in testing. That's not extensive.

If you must, I might have given United North American Commonwealths the idea that some WA nations have massive nuclear stockpiles and are armed and dangerous.

Xmara wrote:
I decided to write an example of how you could go about striking down Resolution #10. This is a rough draft but just an example (and may not be a great one because I’ve never written a proposal). Not that my nation would vote in favor of it because nations should have the right to nuclear weapons and Resolution #10 does an excellent job in protecting that right.

Repeal “Nuclear Arms Possession Act”
A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal
Resolution: #10
Proposed by: Xmara

Description:
Understanding that WA member states are vastly outnumbered by non-member states,

Acknowledging that non-member states are not required to abide by WA proposals,

Recognizing that nuclear weapons are not required to defend a nation from outside forces,

Horrified that even WA member states may use nuclear weapons for reasons other than testing and defense,

Arguing that there are far more peaceful and diplomatic approaches to dealing with foreign invaders,

The World Assembly hereby repeals “Nuclear Arms Possession Act.”
