Randomly? What if they Prime Minister is selected, or the best doctor, or a foreign embassy staff member?

This is all I can be bothered to spend on this but suffice to say there are much, much better things to tackle than this.

Random is random. Removing people from the process would defeat its purpose.

"Yeah. The purpose of murdering people without care. This is absolutely disgusting. Why are we even debating it?"

It is necessary that those are reminded about their own unimportance
It is necessary to remind people that they are nothing in comparison to their community

Frequent ritual sacrifices are the best method to achieve this

Ambassador Mao glances down at the alarmingly short draft resolution, having assumed it to be a condemnation of ritual sacrifice. "Good lord, what is this?" She reads further. "This is clearly a joke, and I have better things to do with my time than to discuss this 'proposal'. She turns on her heel and walks out of the room.

Ambassador Conklin reads the proposal, blinks twice, and mutters "There ain't enough whiskey to deal with this crap."

"Again, I must point out that random selection of victims defeats this idea on logical, and not moral, grounds." Blackbourne replies. "Random selection will inevitably in many nations kill key citizens and lead to a degradation of societal stability and economic ruin. No sane nation would support such a policy."

"You literally submitted this... without our objections?! What the hell!? We told you it was going to suck; yet, you didn't even listen to us! We have warned you and told you it was illogical and no nation would ever vote for it, yet you have submitted it! What the heck is wrong with you and your country, Ambassador?!"

And we removed the Grossly Offensive rule why, exactly?

Ambassador Ewing rises to address the Assembly: "Honored colleagues...and that slimy cocksucker from Clean Land...it has come to our attention that this proposal explicitly states that states shall select "people" and "inhabitants" for this so-called "ritual sacrifice"...since there is no explicit reference to "citizens" of that state, this proposal would enable states to select foreign nationals living within its borders to be brutally murdered...and as such, it would make such protected persons as diplomats and prisoners of war eligible to be murdered, in direct contradiction of existing international law. Therefore, this proposal is illegal, and I move that it be discarded. Furthermore, I motion that the dishonorable representative from Clean Land bend over and kiss my pasty white ass!"

"If it is illegal, then go take it up with the GenSec. Argue it to get it illegal. And I agree with you completely. Also, I second the motion!'

OOC: Oh, it's not the irregularities. It's the proposal as a whole. It's garbage. I won't repeat what I've said, so go read the other well-deserved negative reviews left by more superior WA members.

OOC: If your objective is to make your proposal barely legal, rather than actually good, you shouldn't be making proposals in the first place. People have very vocally indicated opposition to this proposal in one way or another. Rather than rushing to submit this, why not continue to draft and see how you can improve the proposal?

I cannot even take this proposal seriously. Doubly so given it was submitted against the advice of quite a few Ambassadors of this Assembly. What exactly is the logic behind this? Did somebody come across a few "selfish" people and think "Hmm, I bet they wouldn't be as selfish if the threat of sacrifice loomed over their heads"?

No. Just no. There is no sane reason to support this.

That would be much less entertaining. It would be hilarious if it went to vote

OOC: I semi-seriously maintain that if this ever got any traction, the best challenge is a category violation. Moral decency usually doesn't involve mass murder. I don't really think randomly murdering people is within the realm of any category.
