Term Limits

A resolution to reduce corruption and to further progressive and fresh ideas from new delegates that otherwise wouldn't have the chance.

Understanding that new ideas from new and fresh minds further the progress of our nations.

Recognizing that endless terms lead to corruption, grid lock, special interest groups and even authoritarianism.

Understanding that intellectuals around our world currently are not being represented to the fullest.

The Respected Nations of the World Assembly hereby:

Institute a restriction on terms in the Security Councel along with the General Assembly of the World Assembly to a maximum of 1 year to prevent bought out endorsements, to reduce corruption and to protect our democratic republic. These members who have reached their term limits shall be eligible to run again after 6 months of relieved duty in office.

Create the World Assembly Protectorate of Democracy (WAPD) panel to ensure the following:
1. Term limits are being adhered to properly.
2. Ensure the integrity of endorsements and prevent special interest groups from forming.
3. Ensure national leaders are waiting the full six months before they run for office again.

((OOC: I'm sorry, but are you trying to put term limits on actual regional delegates? Because that's what it sounds like with you talking about endorsements and all. We can't do that in a World Assembly resolution. It would be changing the actual Nationstates game mechanics, which WA resolutions can't do.))

The gaming, it is meta.
Unsubtle version: It does not work that way.
Game mechanic changing, especially changes like this, will never work.

Because resolutions are just to improve the future of the society, and to benefit their futures in proposals, excluding this. We can't change the game by resolutions, and if you think you have an opinion, bring it to the Technical thread. It's more better than making a proposal with metagaming. :)

Why not?

1. People like their power.
2. Integrity of endorsements and special interest groups...fluff much?
3.People love their power.
That's why, apart from the game mechanics.

Because the GA cannot refer to the Gameside aspect of NationStates to ensure the experience is totally In Character. Additionally, the GA has no actual power to implement these; that would require hard coding, and belongs in Technical.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses. I thought this was technical?

You're in the General Assembly forum.

As mentioned, if you want game mechanics changed, post your idea in Technical. Keep in mind it should not take the form of a General Assembly proposal.
