Ditto. I would add, were it possible, the fact that the target resolution was forced upon us in violation of basic custom and courtesy. Further, I would suggest removing the last clause. Semantically, I don't think it works in this context.

No, we are not a nation of cat people. We're all humans (and a few annoying gnomes) here. The cat's just there because our king is such a genius, he saw that it would be a good military strategy to have a distractingly cute flag, to blind our enemies to (our) victory!

The Supreme Dominion of Regele Baular lends its cherished and steadfast support to this repeal. While our august nation treats all of its citizens with respect, and far exceeds any standards set out by the limped hand of the international community, we cannot in good conscience support this kind of tyranny. Imposing a financial burden on member states, including those who already exceed the standards outlined by the original resolution, would be a devastating drain on lesser nations. The fair and just Senate of Regele Baular has already had to cut the popular "Flags for Orphans" annual taxpayer event in order to run the necessary bureaucratic checks that the original proposal requires.

As such, we are for the repeal. As with all things, the fair treatment of citizens is best solved through war, and the armed dissolution of tyranny, rather than through imposed economic changes.

IC: "This is not a well written proposal (whereas, for example, is grammatically incorrect). It's too [message redacted] hard to understand. Do I give a damn though? No. Just repeal that damn resolution already!"

OoC: Have you noticed that a lot of resolutions are repealed or are nominated for repeal (with quorum) within a few weeks?

The preamble clauses are used in the same manner as those used in the Statute of Westminster. There is an error. After the word education in the third preamble clause, there should be a colon, not a full stop.

Of course they are. The mob is fickle, to quote the character Gracchus from the film Gladiator.

Yea, I had a similar reaction on rewatching the show film. Though, I'd say Tiberius was likely sound. Gaius, certainly not so. Baltar gives him a good name.

Do note that it's fluffy pandering/enticement that won the original, say, half its votes. I say, if it's fluffy pandering that doesn't destroy meaning, keep it -- not that there's any way not to, considering it's already in queue.
