General Assembly Proposal
ID: seritene_1494171396
Ban School Uniforms For All WA Member States
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.
Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Seritene
School uniforms are incredibly outdated and unmodern. They restrict students ability to express themselves, are a financial burden for families and this assembly would put this 1950s tradition where it belongs, in the history books. Students that have to wear school uniforms are slaves to society and have fewer freedoms as a result. For the sake of the rights of kids everywhere to freely dress how they wish and for parents to be saved severe financial burden and hardship, this assembly would completely and totally abolish this demeaning, outdated and human rights abusing institution. Here is a further argument for abolishing school uniforms throughout the world assembly
Many countries in our assembly believe that it's very likely that forcing kids to dress alike will only help create more followers than leaders. If a child becomes accustomed to being told what to do, then how does a child handle it when him or her finally graduates and is placed in an environment where him or her is not told what to do?
If everyone wears the same clothes, that doesn't transform individual students into wonderful community members with like minds and spirit. There needs to be more at work to create such more oneness and it takes years to build such a culture
Punishing the ability to dress freely for everyone because of the actions of a few is a bad precedence. It's not what freedom is all about.
Implementing a school uniform program by itself reinforces the idea that simply changing what students wear will make a difference in their behaviour. It's a type of preventive action. A restriction that is supposed to stop some undesirable behaviour."
This assembly would advise all nations to stop abandon all school uniform programs
This assembly would help nations fix social and economic problems without having to resort to school uniforms
This assembly would suggest all wealthy nations give 0.1 percent of their gdp to the clothing and fashion industries that have suffered from uniform policies.
Yours sincerely,
The Republic of Seretine

National News Radio: A large-scale infrastructure project will soon be underway. During this time, for safety reasons, the island will be closed to tourists and foreign news agents. We do expect a minor loss in revenue due to this, but this will be greatly offset by both the long and short-term benefits of the infrastructure project. If your job is negatively impacted by the island closure, please send a letter or verbal message via courier to the Council so that we can add you to the list of beneficiaries of foreign aid.

I'm sure this is right up there with removing slavery and banning genocide.

To the author: please post your next draft here before submitting it again! This process is a marathon, not a sprint. Remember you are writing the legal text of international law, not a blog to convince people to support your viewpoint.

They just sent me a TG asking how they could make the proposal legal: I've directed them back to here.
