WA POLL: Do you understand the rules?

Postby Morgantown West Virginia » Fri Feb 24, 2017 5:14 pm

So, 2 WA Sec called WA members lazy and/or liars for not knowing the WA rules.

Well, I think they are hard to understand, so I want to know if you think they are hard to understand or not.

Plus, feel free to discuss WA reform, which I think is needed, and the topic above.

No, they did not.

They are, for the most part, very easy to understand. This probably belongs in the GA Q&A thread or something.

Since the Secretariat was created (end of October last year) there have been...... six resolutions passed (and I would guess at least three times that brought to vote and maybe twice as many again brought to the floor that were not kicked out for being illegal. So clearly there are nations who understand the rules and are capable of following them without too much difficulty. And they didn't start enforcing the rules last October - the rules have ALWAYS been there. They just took over the job of policing them, so to speak. So the fact there are 390 something resolutions on the statute books suggests that the rules can not be that hard to understand.

(A resolution has to do something, you can't ban a form of government, it has to be done in the name of The WA and not of a nation, it can't apply to nations not in The WA and whatever the resolution is doing it has to apply to all member states rather than being optional - I am pretty sure those are the primary rules and I don't see why they are so confusing........)

I don't understand your vendetta against the Secretariat, but that's not my business. What I will say is that the position was created three days ago. Wouldn't it make sense to see how they do for a bit before judging them? The poll, when I saw it, was 15 to 1. It seems that most people do understand the rules. However, I will wait for a larger sample size before judging.

That's a Rick Perry level of unnecessary execution.
