Including Religion As A School Subject
A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity

Area of Effect: Cultural Heritage

Proposed by: Nasarea

According to the proposal, cultural heritage and religion should be a compulsory subject in school until grade 9. This can help inculcate religious values in the kid, along with the knowledge of his / her cultural beliefs.

According to section 54 (a), religion should become an optional subject after grade 9. However, kids should be encouraged to opt for that subject.

Section 54 (a) of what? Is this taken from something else?
It does look like that, I agree, but there's not enough there to check in a reasonable amount of time.

Also: 'should' is used as operative terms, therefore I think that falls under 'doesn't do shit'.

Agreed.
Also, as I recall, the fact that educational systems can vary quite widely between nations (in both NS and RL) means that "grade 9" must be taken as referring to the system with which the author is familiar in their own RL location and thus as an [illegal] "RL Reference.

Daarwyrth wrote:Plus, wouldn't it also contradict Freedom of Religion? Namely to be able to choose not to be religious?

I don't think so. It's only trying to make the classes required, not actual practice of -- let alone belief in -- any religion.

Another problem with the "grade 9" reference is contradiction of the clause in GAR#299 'Legal Competence' that makes setting age limits for anything a national matter rather than one for the WA.

OOC: but ‘grade 9’ isn’t an age, is it?

Isn't it, at least primarily, an age-based definition? (That this question has to arise does, however, help to show that the term has no intrinsic & obvious meaning, thus making it interpretable only in terms of a RL Reference...)

Category: Environmental

Proposed by: The 5th Bartelsic Empire

b) Being used for hunting, fishing, or any recreation other than using designated trails for hiking
c) Being bought by or sold to private industries for the purpose of development or private ownership

The bill will allow habitats of endangered animal or plant species to undergo development (limited to only 1 housing unit, 1 dirt road, and a fence surrounding the border of the environment that will have a height no greater than 1 and 1/2 meters) if, and only if, the land is labeled by the government of the country of origin as being a national park and that the development is to serve as access and housing for park workers. Not really, no. #465 protects the species in various ways, without blocking further action, whereas this proposal just gives extra protection to some of their habitats instead. Poorly thought-out, perhaps, but not illegal.[1/6 of |GenSec]

Convention On Nuclear Disarmament
A resolution to slash worldwide military spending.

Category: Global Disarmament
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Greater Thuni

The World Assembly,

Bearing in mind that countries develop these catastrophic weapons for defense due to everlasting conflict,
Expressing its concern at the inadequate security measures for the protection of weapons of mass destruction at States of proliferation concern, as well as lack of infrastructure for preventive measures against illegal transportation of weapons of mass destruction to and from the above states,
Alarmed by the rapid increase of stockpiles in Nuclear Weapon States,
Affirms the need for peaceful usage of Nuclear technology,
Regrets the continued use of Nuclear testing by Nations,

Hereby:
1 Condemns nations from being the first to use nuclear arms, nuclear arms serve as an optional retaliation to ensure the security of nations, a violation would result in:
Immediate severance of connections with the nation, such as:
i) Includes trade connections,
ii) Confiscation of the nuclear arms,
iii) Sanctions placed on the nation;

2. Encourages implementation of NO FIRST USE POLICY when it comes to deployment of warheads. No first use (NFU) refers to a pledge or a policy by a nuclear power not to use WMD’s as a means of warfare unless first attacked by an adversary using biological, chemical and nuclear weapons;

3.Recommends the implementation of a financial structure for payment of monetary reparations that ensures no added financial burden for victims of a nuclear disaster, such as the Hiroshima and Nagasaki attacks, and those citizens prone to a nuclear disaster:
a.The reparation structure can be formed with the assistance of the International Monetary Fund and the Economic and Social Council and can be slightly modified from case to case, upon approval from the Security Council and the Economic and Social Council, but the basic skeleton of the reparations scheme must adhere to the following structure:
i, Recuperation – The government must provide free and quality healthcare to the victims of a nuclear disaster and treat physical, mental and psychological ailments impartially with no prejudice;
ii.Rehabilitation – The government must undertake to provide temporary housing with all the facilities necessary for survival, such as but not limited to food, water and clothing at an acceptable quality for those evacuated to a safe haven from the exclusion zone after the occurrence of such a disaster, whilst seeking to provide permanent housing solutions after a determined period of time;
iii.Reintegration – The government must make efforts to ensure the inclusion of the victims and evacuees into society and to work against any discrimination that may arise as a result of their physical or mental condition and must also make efforts to offer facilities such as education and employment on an equal or better footing than was available prior to the rehabilitation stage;
iv.Reparation – The government or the party found at fault in such a case must provide compensation in the form of financial aid or funds or to those who have lost kin or suffered physical damage or property damage as a result of such a situation and relevant action must be taken to prevent such situations from occurring again;
b. The reparations are not to be misinterpreted or unfairly used as insurance:
i.The government and/or private entities are not permitted to charge insurance payments or interest and charging of the same will result in serious financial ramifications;

4. Decides that all States shall not provide any form of support to volatile non-State actors or terrorist groups that attempt to develop, acquire or use nuclear weapons and nuclear facilities;

5.Requests member states to invest in developing ABM systems instead of developing WMD’s for defense systems as:
a) ABM systems are not manufactured for offensive measures, but for defensive measures,
b) They are surface to air ballistic systems which means they do not have to be modified for intercontinental ranges as they:
i. Are still known to have a low success percentage,
ii. Require more study and research for development,

6.Proposes provision of at least 2 months worth of supplies to sustain the people in the bunkers along with basic necessities and sustenance;

7.Encourages member states to enhance and amplify awareness of the repercussions that can be potentially caused by poor infrastructure and location of nuclear power plants and various ways in which their countries or other countries can or do provide aid;

8.Suggests granting specific sanction relief towards nations having nuclear energy or weapon sanctions posed by other nations and organizations;
a. In return, these nations would commit to partial denuclearization in terms of nuclear weapons,
b. The partial denuclearization would be substantive enough to decrease risks of intercontinental or long-range nuclear threat, but would still allow for the nations to have these nuclear weapons for national security,

9. Defines Nuclear weapons as any missile with a warhead of radioactive capabilities.

GenSec Status: ILLEGAL — HELD
Illegal (1): Bears Armed

Seconds ago: Bears Armed: Illegal — Clause 1.ii contradicts an existing resolution, which recognises' member nations' right to own nuclear weapons (and, also, the WA is currently banned -- by a clause in GA Res.#2 -- from the sort of forceful actions that might be needed to carry out that confiscation); "Hiroshima and Nagasaki", and the "International Monetary Fund" are RL References; the "Security Council" is either another RL Reference or -- because Modly precedent says that as far as GA legislation is concerned the GAME's "SC" (some of whose actions could not be explained easily IC) does not exist -- a case of Meta-gaming.

Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA#499
Proposed by: Kerelen

General Assembly Resolution #499 “Access to Abortion” (Category: Health; Area of Effect: Healthcare) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Pro-choice nations prescribe abortion for pregnant women and they contradict our own conscience and moral decency.

Considering health consequences of abortion to pregnant women,

And put all religious interpretations aside,

Be this enacted by the World Assembly and as follows:

- Abortion means terminating a pregnancy deliberately, which also means killing an unborn baby.
2. Requires that:
- All member nations shall ban abortion, except for life-threatening situations and abortion as a side effect when using a medical procedure.
- All member nations shall help pregnant women who have complicated health problems without using abortion through extensive programs.
- All member nations shall pass laws protecting women from rape and incest.
- All member nations shall provide information to help families to know when they should have kids.
- All member nations shall classify abortion as murder, only life-threatening situations and abortion as a side effect do not count.

And hereby repeals General Assembly Resolution #499: "Access to Abortion".

Kerelen at it again, and as usual, has a lot of legislating within a repeal.

Edit: after posting this, they just withdrew it. What's with them submitting and withdrawing their clearly illegal proposal like a gazillion times?

As we all know today, nationstates have Chemical weapons, they cause deaths and famine and so much more, I say we It's banned the chemical weapons so that it does not caused famine,deaths or anything

1. I say if any nation goes over the limit that set for chemical weapons there should go under sanctions trading goes down we also do blockade of them . I say this is reasonable to ensure certain regions do have conflict and so that insults that some nations can have security over themselves

2. It does not matter I'm not saying no specific connection state or anyone particular I'm saying for the International security this is a fundamental thing that every nation needs that's what they have security so that they don't worry about famine, so the economy
doesn't breaking their stock market goes down.

3 This will cause controversy and arguments among nation States but this can ensure that security of nations can and will have be done so the nation any nation States can have a safety limit of chemical weapons do not call all crazy. I hate to see people suffer because of chemical weapons they cause casualties countries will fund their entire GDP economy and money just to rescue their citizens from the brink of death from chemical weapons I say we limit this so that citizens of different nations States and regions can ensure safety.

Repeal: “Access To Abortion”
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#499

Proposed by: Michael Country

General Assembly Resolution #499 “Access to Abortion” (Category: Health; Area of Effect: Healthcare) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

This should be repealed because it forces nations to allow access to killing babies, which is wrong.

Doesn't address target resolution and deliberately misconstrues the target resolution itself.

Doesn't address target resolution and deliberately misconstrues the target resolution itself.

NatSov only, too, right?

Could be, but the thing that stood out to me is that it doesn't address the target resolution.

Agreed on the "doesn't address target resolution" aspect, but bearing in mind that foetuses have been called "unborn babies" in RL (and the fact that WA legislation allows abortion all of he way up to the moment of birth) I am prepared to accept that the reference to "killing babies" is an honest difference of opinion rather than the author "deliberate misconstruing" the target resolution.

Sincluda wrote:NatSov only, too, right?
Not if one accepts that the author genuinely regards foetuses -- late-term ones, at the least -- as [unborn] babies: In that case there is also the non-NatSov argument that "killing babies is wrong".

Anti-WMD Proposal
A resolution to enact uniform standards that protect workers, consumers, and the general public.

Category: Regulation
Area of Effect: Safety
Proposed by: Dabunchiet

WMDs like nukes or ballistic missiles are becoming large problems in the general safety of the world. I propose that all countries must sign a peace agreement to get rid of WMDs worldwide.

This would allow for fewer damages and more repairs of countries,
More safety of the general public,
And fewer bad relationships between areas.

Approvals: 1 (Tinhampton)

GenSec Status: ILLEGAL — HELD
Illegal (1): Bears Armed
Seconds ago: Bears Armed: Illegal — Category incorrect (should be 'Global Disarmament'), Format (Proposals must be written as laws, not as suggestions), Branding (Proposals must be written as though from the viewpoint of the WA as a whole, so your use of "I" is illegal), tries to have direct effects on non-WA nations as well as on the WA's actual members ("all nations" "worldwide"); attempted Duplication & Contradiction of existing Resolutions, and -- bearing the EXTREME unlikelihood of "all" nations agreeing to sign such a treaty -- doesn't really do anything.

Status: Lacking Support (requires 60 more approvals)
Voting Ends: in 2 days 23 hours

:blink:
Seriously? Tinhampton approved this? Well, there goes their credibility...

Lower Political Freedom
A resolution to restrict political freedoms in the interest of law and order.

Category: Political Stability

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Franancia

This proposal is going to nail a ban on Political Freedom. Throughout my experience so far, I tried to raise the political freedom of my citizens. But it has had significant damage on my economy. If we take Political Freedoms away from our citizens then our economies will all reflourish.
To the members of the World Council,

I have done some tests to see if this would be logical,
Very surprised how two major factors of a country influence one and the other a lot.
I have given my people more political freedom for some time, but this backfired and lowered my economy. I have come to the conclusion that if we reduce our citizen's political freedoms.

1. Lower political freedom to 10.

This proposal seeks to establish a large world military to maintain order throughout the world called the Disarmament Corp for Prosperity by

a. Mandating that all nations commit 1,000 troops to the Disarmament Corp of Prosperity

b. Creating the World Peace and War Committee to review conflicts

c. Have all WA members house a Peace Corp of Prosperity in their country

The Disarmament Corp of Prosperity job is to...

a. Resolve Civil Conflicts through non violent force such as riots, or protests

Implementation Of Sports In Basic Education
A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity

Area of Effect: Educational

Proposed by: Lannistter

Given the possibility that sport is not seen as a qualifying subject in the future and therefore, that the next generation has a lower general health by developing less interest in sport, it is proposed to promote the integration of Sport from basic education in all nations of the World Assembly, regardless genres, since physical activity should be standardized and practiced frequently to ensure human physical health and avoid health problems related to eating diseases.

-We request that the nations commit to:

1- The creation of an Olympic Committee or Sports Association in a discipline to be practiced.

2- Promote healthy eating among the youth population.

3- We request that a school subject called "Physical Education" or "Sports Education" be created.

4- The implementation of fun activities/games for children in case the subject is also integrated into preschoolers, to ensure that they practice the subject without feeling obliged.

5- That training and muscular and physical education be provided for students of the subject in higher grades (Secondary Education or "High School").

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The teachers/trainers of the subject will be provided with training (Provided by the creator of the proposal, The United Kingdom ofLannistter) so that they can develop their work correctly and in an interesting way for young people so that they feel attracted to sports and a healthy lifestyle, in addition to developing also in the medium-long term a important professional sports base among the voters in favor, which would allow them to participate in sporting events (if desired) with a greater probability of achieving achievements.

We deeply request the approval of this proposal to develop human health and physical integrity, one step at a time.

Branding, not written from WA perspective
